For those who have had H1N1 at their house.....
was it terrible, mild, seemed like the regular flu? My son is complaining of a sore throat tonight, has a fever of 100.6, and has a stuffy nose. He is acting pretty good though. It has been going through his school. I guess I am trying to be optimistic. I have read the horror stories, anybody got some not scary ones. ![]()

My son tested positive, had a 100-103 fever for 5 days, body aches, sore throat, cough, runny/stuffy nose, and fatigue, but with Motrin EVERY 4 hours, he didnt feel too awful bad. He is 13 BTW
DD is 2 1/2...started out at 3 am, coughing very hard and gasping for air, took her to the er, they swabbed her for the flu (takes 2 days to get back) and said she had pneumonia and bronchiolitis. Went home with antibiotics and a nebulizer. This was Saturday morning. Followed up with the ped Monday who said her flu test was Positive for swine flu. Continue nebulizer and antibiotics, call if needed. We had bad nights, rough days, just the hard coughing. She had 2 follow up xrays (first one showed too much pneumonia left) and got a clean bill of health after 2 weeks! Luckily, nobody else got sick. Me, DH, or DD who is 6.
I had it about a month ago, I got it from working at an urgent care. Sadly I brought it home to my kids and they had it. They had fevers that got like 102 max. They were really good for being sick though, just layed around and watched cartoons. They barely fussed or anything. I think I was the bigger baby about it! haha The fever, dizziness, cold chills, body aches were too much for me to handle! So when they told me they had it I was really surprised! haha
I had it 4 weeks ago. I am still sore from it. Granted, I'm 30...
Fever ranged daily from 100 to 103.5 depending on when I last took tylenol. Sore body... sore throat... chills... sore skin... sore sore sore...
No diarrhea, some vomiting but only after I ate...
I also developed bronchitus and was coughing so hard that my side still hurts. I swear I may have cracked a rib. I was checked for pneumonia a few times due to all of the congestion in my chest, and some serious weezing, but was cleared each time. Thank goodness.
I was out of work from Monday through Tuesday of the following week. I'm totally back to normal now except for my super sore ribs.
Sorry if I scared you - that flu really beat the crap out of me.
My son had it, too... not nearly as bad. Just a fever, chills, and cough. he recouped very quickly.
He's so tough.
Hope your boy gets better soon! Just make sure you keep an eye on him and don't make little of any big changes. Not that you would, but from one mother to another, just offering a heads up.
I am hoping that it is just a cold. I will probably bring him to the doctor tomorrow to make sure he doesn't have strep.

I have it right now I got it on Tuesday... I'll give you a timeline as to what its been like for me so far....
Tuesday - low grade fever like 99, aches all over my body, tired
Wednesday - Fever of 102, aches horrible, very tired, chills bad
Thursday - stayed in bed the entire day, very stuffed up nose to the point of it hurts, fever was lower to like 101, sweats through the night
Friday - Fever back down to like 99, nose still horribly stuffed up, energy level still down, chills finally gone though
Today - Energy is pretty good not 100%, nose is still stuffy but dosent hurt just annoying, no more aches or chills, sweats, or fever none of that though.
My SO & daughter got on Tamiflu once I got the flu & they havent shown any symptoms & have been here with me all along. When I took the tamiflu though I couldnt hold it down had to throw it back up my symptoms just seemed to get worse while I was on it & I didnt take another dose. When I had the chills the only way to get rid of them was the take a very hot bath & then like run to my bed & completely cover up in blankets to keep some heat in I had to do this like five times or so.
For me it seems to have been a quick one I'm not 100% just yet & my taste is still blah oh yeah everything tasted like crap the last few days too drives me insane makes me not want to eat & I pretty much havent. So not everyone who gets it is "near death" blah blah blah! I'm sure he'll be just fine!
Oh yeah & I do have a cough that has flared up through out the days sometimes I have a bad few hours of it then its not bothersome for a long while. It has made my throat sore & I have had flem come with it as well.
Thanks for sharing. His fever came down but he is quite congested and shivering in his sleep. I hate when they are sick. I so want to take it from him and be sick for him.

We all had it about 5 wks ago. My son (10 months at the time)m then my dad, then me, then my DH. My dad was the only one who had complications, but that is because he has VERY bad asthma. The doc made him stay in bed for a wk or so. Have him drink lots of fluids, take vitiman C if you have it and just stay rested. My son also had double ear infections and besides the fever and him sleeping a lot you couldnt tell he was sick.

We had it.
3 year old had a cough, fever, runny nose, sore throat and ended up with an ear infection.
1yr old had a cough.
I had the typical flu symptoms, fever, chills, body ache, sore throat, ect.. lasted about 3 days then I was weak for another 2 days or so.
Hubby didn't get it.. the jerk lmao
