ok so anyways my fiance and i are renting out a room from some of his dads friends until we can get up on our feet and get our own place(my hours were cut to 8hrs aweek so thats why!) well anyways they have a son who is 19 and his GF lives here too well her and i talk and stuff and we get along pretty good. Well about 3 weeks ago my fiance got me a laptop so i could start online classes and she had asked to use it so i gave her our password...come to find out, she goes into our room while were gone and takes the computer!!! I understand this is more her house than ours..but we do pay rent here so im ready to say somethin to the owners of the house because to me thats bullshit...we pay 420 a month to rent out the room and we pay for our own food and what not which is expected so im not complaining about that..but anyways should i say somethin to them or not?! i dont want to blow it all out of proportion but this is the room WE are renting and eeven if it wasnt this is MY computer i didnt give her the password to use whenever the fuck she wanted it, it was a one time thing..she knows if she just asked id let her..so why sneak around?!?! i changed my password but i know she tried to use it cuz i came home one day and it was locked due to too many wrong password attempts....ugh

I would say something and then go get a new lock for your door.  If you can't do that I would find a cabinet ot closet to put the computer in and pad lock it.

I would just start taking the computer everywhere I went. Thats the beauty of having a laptop.

I would probably also change the password.

Take the laptop with you, lock it in your trunk... when it can't be found she might gt the hint.. or better yet, just say something.

Yes. You shouldn't have given the the PW in the first place. if she wanted to use it, you should have just unlocked it for her. By giving her the PW, I would think that meant you didn't mind if/when she used it. However, it doesn't make it right to go into your room. I would not say something to those people, but I would talk to her, and tell her to please respect my privacy and stay out of my room when I am not home. If she doesn't, then you can talk to the other people.

Talk to her about it. Let her know that you don't appreciate her coming in your room like that. And that you'd like her to ask to use you things. Don't give her the password again. If she continues to do it after you speak with her, then go to the owners about it. It doesn't matter if she has more right to be there or not, you are paying to rent that room. It's your private space and she has no right to be in there without permission.

id lock the door...you are renting the room you shouldbe able to do that. if it doesn't have a lock then buy a newdoor knob with one on it they are really easy to change out
