Ok i decided the box of sweet potatoes probably wont taste good.
How do you make them homeade? I see cans of them, do i just buy them and put marshmellows on them?
Do you like your sweet potatoes mashed or chunky??
You just buy sweet potatoes, peel them, cut them up like you would a regular potato, and mash them... Add in a little brown sugar and butter... then you place them in a baking dish, while still hot, and put those mini marshmallows all over the top.. Bake them until the top is golden brown
I buy fresh and peel, chop, boil them, and bake them with brown sugar, butter, a little salt, and add marshmallows towards the end so they don't burn.
Be thankful for what you have.
I prefer chunky, yeah i been goggleling but all i can find is sweet potatoe pie. So i wasnt sure.

I prefer them chunky myself.
I'm assumuing you want the traditional sweet potatoe casserole for thanksgiving recipe.
I've actually never made that dish before.
But I wanted to say that I make sweet potatoes all the time and I use a ton of different recipes.
My kids love it when I chop the sweet potatoes, drizzle it with some pure honey (or molasses), garlic, oregano, thyme and pepper. You can also use a teeny bit of butter or olive oil. It's not as sweet, more savory.

Does that mean you boil them first?
Sorry but i have never even saw anyone make them so i have no idea what to do, and i want them to turn out good, so i want to make sure i get it right. Thanks
This is similar to the one we have. I like mine a little bit chunky, not too mushy. And Im not a fan of the marshmallows, so we use a pecan topping.

I peel and cut them into chunks. Boil them until they are almost done (still a little raw in the middle. If you stick them with a fork and they take a few seconds to slide off, it's done.) Then I mix 1/2 cup dark brown sugar, pinch of powdered clove, 2 TBSp butter, pinch of cinnimon, and 1/4 cup of water together. Put the chunks of potatoes in a casserole dish, pour over the sugar mixture, cover with foil, and bake for an hour. Take it out, put mini marshmallows on top and broil til golden brown. Yummy!
Here is how I make mine

· 3 eggs, beaten
· 1/4 teaspoon salt

Bake 30 to 40 minutes in the preheated oven, or until center is firm and edges are lightly browned.
