We all know the booster/extended harnessing debate. Most kids go into a booster at 3 years(FAR to young)  but if it were at law to harness to 5 years old, would you?

Yes I would because we already do. I have 5 kids and they are all in  5 point harness seats. They are ages 4 months, 2, 4, 6, and 7.

I plan to. My DD had her 4 year check up this week and the Nurse was like"oh she is 39 pounds, one more pound and you can go into a big girl booster!!" I then told her that my DD has a seat that will EH her till she is 5. The nurse looked like I just told her I wanted to remove DD's ears!

for me Its about what I think is best for my children.  I don't really care what the law says I'm going to do whats best for my kid.  My youngest is 7 and no longer requires the fancy car seats.  She doesnt fit into them anymore.  Which in my opinion forcing her when she's too big into one would be more dangerous.  But lets say for arguments sake the law says at 5 car seats were illegal. or even booster seats.  That at 5 they had to sit with just the car seatbelt.  I would be still putting my kid in what I felt she was safetst and be damm with the law.

I do...but, my tiny 5 yr old is still at 30 lbs.  But, it shouldn't be a law...that should be at the discretion of the parent.  The current laws are fine..

I'm going to do extended rear facing and extended harnessing until I can't possibly do it any longer. I choose the safest options for my child; not what's more convenient.

No because my kids can and will undo the harnesses and climb out of their seats. ( its happened to my 5 year old step son more then once before we switched him over) There are 3 car seats in my back seat and they can't reach the seatbelt buckles. So the booster seat is WAY safer..
