My daughter saw the ad for the Zhu Zhu Pets just before her birthday in October. At that time, we had no idea it would be the hot toy of the season. She wanted them for Christmas and we had about given up when we saw that everyone around us and even online were back ordered until after January....
Yesterday my mom called to let me know she found them on Amazon. The bed, a funhouse and one of the hamsters. She ordered it, overdrafting her bank acct, LOL. We are all pitching in towards it as the big "Santa" gift. We will have it in time for Christmas.
I just had to share. My daughter keeps going on and on about how much she wanted those things for Christmas and we were all trying to come up with a way to tell her that "Santa" just couldn't "make enough" for all the boys and girls. Now that we know it's on its way, we are all very excited and can't wait to see the look on her face when she sees them.
That's awesome!!! Congrats to your mom for finding them :) You will have to take a picture of her face when she sees them I'm sure it will be priceless and well worth all the effort.
I just went to Amazon to take a look as my kids had been asking about them and they are $60 each! What do they do that's worth $60!
Yeah I have been wondering about them there is no way i would pay that much! What do they do? My son has a real hamster ad doest even play with it so for us I dont see the point.

That's awsome. I don't really get all the hype over them. I have 2 that I got at Toys R Us. I am going to sell them on ebay after Thanksgiving. My DD has no interest in them but she is still young.
Honestly, I have no idea, LOL. They seem cute and kind of fun. I guess they come with different accessories like little cars, beds, etc....And we can get the stuff to make their little tube cages for them to run around in. Based off the commercial I saw, they run around in their "habitats" and you can let them drive around in their little car and sleep in their little beds.
Two years ago, my dd wanted that Buttercup pony for Christmas. I didn't know about it until it was too late to try to come up with the money to get it. She was so horribly disappointed after she had been so good and asked Santa about it and everything. That look of disappointment was so damned crushing. I vowed that if there ever was a toy she truly wanted during those special times (birthday or Christmas), my family and I would move heaven and earth to ensure she got it.

That's so sad about the pony and I would be doing exactly the same thing this year if she were mine!
My kids have seen the commercial too for the Zhu Zhu's and keep mentioning it but I don't think they will be devastated if they don't get them. They are just one thing on their Christmas lists, for all three of my kids it would work out pretty expensive = 3 pets plus accessories and I would be really annoyed if they didn't hold their attention for more than 5 mnutes, which I'm sure would happen. Maybe if they are still interested I can get them for their birthdays.
