Ok so I just had my daughter on the 13th. I've been BFing but last night I started bleeding and it hurt so bad I was crying. So, we gave her formula for 2 feedings over night trying to let myself heal. Well, this morning I woke up leaking like crazy so I got out about 2 ounces which she drank and about another ounce afterwards. I know I still have a ton in my left breast but I can't get it out. We don't have a pump nor the money on hand for one at the moment either. I just took a hot shower I've had the heating pad on it and I still can't get anything out. She has eaten 3 times in the last couple of hours. Once I fed straight from the breast and she ate good. This was an hour ago and she's hungry again and I only have one ounce that I can put in a bottle. I need to get more milk out. Does anybody know how I can do this without a pump?

ETA: Ok. So we played with our finances a bit and I went out and got a single hand pump. We get paid next Friday and I will be going and getting nipple shields!! The pump works alright, I'm still having issues getting anything out of the left one so I pumped the right and got about 3 oz and am letting the left one chill for a while then trying again. also drinking lots of water so maybe that will help as well.

The good thing about pumping until I get the shields, DH gets some bonding feeding time with her. He also likes the fact that we can actually see how much she is eating.
