my son is 13 months old and we've been weaning from breastfeeding for about a week now...he was eating regularly and now, since yesterday, he wont eat. what am i supposed to do? he's not even acting hungry at all.

oh and if you have something to say about me weaning him at this age...keep it to yourself. spare me the smart a$$ attitudes please!

he has eaten no food at all? has he had any liquids?  It could be a phase that many children go through or he could have an upset tummy if he doesnt feel hungry.   A child rarely starves themself.  As long as he is producing wet and/or messy diapers he is fine.

he wont eat real food? from my experience that age is rough as far as eating goes. some days my son barely ate anything but in a few days he would catch up and eat us out of house and home. i know it is kind of scary  but honestly they will eat if they are hungry...they wont let themselves starve to death. one thing i did for DS was got those pediasure things they have chocolate vanilla and strawberry. they are packed with nutrition and can make you rest easy knowing his belly is full.

sometimes they go through stages where they don't want to eat. my 5 year old is still this way. just make sure you make little things and leave a plate out with snacks/drinks and make sure he knows they are there. they will eventually eat.

If he doesn't have a fever and isn't acting sick, I wouldn't worry.  He'll eat when he's hungry, just keep offering him stuff!

And I weaned mine at 18 months.  I love how people get all testy over stuff like that.

I agree.  My DS skipped lunch for a month and when I called the DR about it he just said that a child own't starve himself so if he doesn't want to eat don't force him.  He will eat when hungry.
