What is your "signature" dish?  What do you get the most compliments on??

I'm more of a baker-- I especially love baking desserts...  I always get compliments on my pies.  Here's one of my cherry pies from last Thanksgiving:

My cheesecake, which is actually my MIL's recipie, she passed when hubby and I were just 18, but she gave it to me when she was sick so I could make it for their family functions.  Its always "grammies"or "my moms" cheese cake but im the designated maker of it.

Outside of the family my friends always want meto make my Ricotta cookies, which again is a recipie from my husbands side of the family - but everyone LOVES them. Those btw are one of my Sister In laws "goto dessert".

Nice lattice-work, do you do your own pastry?

My "thing" is brownies.  I do 14 kinds and just yesterday, sold about $300 worth.  Right now, I'm going downstairs to chow on one smothered in ice cream.  ;-)

The only appropriate attitude for man to have about the big questions, is not the arrogant certitude that is the hallmark of religion, but doubt. Doubt is humble and that is what man needs to be, considering that human history is just a litany of getting shit dead wrong. - Bill Maher

Cakes are my specialty - I've searched high and low for the best recipes for different cakes and icings and I've found them - moist and delicious.  I am making 3 cakes this week.  One for my dh's grandma's thanksgiving, one for my cousin's birthday (celebrated on Thanksgiving at my grandma's house.  And a big cake for my best friend's mom's 50th birthday party to feed 120 people.  Oh, and I make the BEST cheesecake bars,

That was my first time doing lattice, and I really loved how it came out!  Thank you!  Yes, I make my own pastry... I just like the taste a lot better than the store-bought.

All this food talk is making me hungry now...

I am a baker too. I have a few things that people look forward to on the holidays. Fudge is probably my most requested but I usually bring a big platter of cookies too. Chocolate chip macaroons, gingersnaps, chocolate chip cookies, frosted anise cookies, and mint forgotten cookies. I also make a deep dark chocolate cheesecake, but it is expensive to make so I usually do one or the other.
