Do You Know Anything About Your Family's Money/ Finances?
Me and dh. we both make budgets and handle the money. his aunt and uncle on the other hand, different story. his aunt is more old fashioned; she has NO idea how much they bring in. they are pastors by the way. She gets an allowance, if you will. but she does not pay bills or handle anything financialy. sometimes i wish i could be like that. it sounds soooo blissfully stress free. but then i snap back into reality. my dh SUCKS at finances. we HAVE to do it together. if you dont know squat about how much your dh brings in, are you happy that way? or would you rather have a say?

DH and I talk about our finances but I am the one who does the bill paying budgeting and saving. DH just wants to know what is where and how much we have available. We only recently switched to this way because DH deployed. Before he was the one managing the money and I just knew what was where. Turns out I'm better at it then he is so it will stay this way. We both have equal access to all accounts. That being said our financial life has evolved over the last few years. We both had some baggage from bad prior relationships and had to learn to trust one another with the financial aspect of our life.
Well I handle the bill paying etc because Im simply more particuliar and anal about those things than he is.
But he knows how much we have and what im paying etc.
We both work and bring in money too.
He knows how much we have and can check it or can access it. However, I handle all of our bill paying, balancing, budgeting, savings, and investments. All that he has to do is say, "how much do we have in the bank?" and he has it that simple...spoiled man! No, its because if it were left up to him it would not be as neat and organized and he probably would not diversify the way that I have.
Even though the checkbook is in my purse, and I do 90% of the check writing and/or Online bill pay...Hubby knows how much money we have, spend, etc. We have no secrets when it comes to our finances, family, etc.

I do everything when it comes to money...except make it.
I do all the banking, bill paying, spending...and he gets $20 a day for gas and food. He knows a little bit about where we are financially, but he hasn'e really looked at it. As long as its all getting done, he doesn't really care.
He sucks at money, so I handle all the bills and once we have a better handle of things, i will explain things to him. I have tried and he looks like a deer caught in headlights!
I handle all our personal and business finances . As long as he has a little cash, his debit and credit card he's happy. I'd love to give it to him to do but it just is not feasible with his job .
Yes...thank God...I knew everything...I actually handled the finances and I had a little binder in the house for him if anything ever happened to me that explained everything.
My finances was something I never had to worry about after his death.
Now I am putting all that information in my safe along with my will in case anything ever happens to me.
