so christmas is right around the corner and I would like to do things differently this year and try to shop for alot of stuff early.  the prob is that dh and I have no idea what to get his daughter.  I know that sounds silly but we only see her every other weekend so its not much time to figure out what certain things she would like for christmas lol.  and she is 12 so its not like we can go down the little girl isle anymore for presents.  so any ideas on what 12 year olds are into these days?  she wants to be a fashion designer when she grows up but her true calling is in the kitchen.  the girl can really cook and she loves it!  but getting her a bunch of kitchen stuff wouldnt feel like just hers after a minute because the house would use it.  and we always have a hard time getting presents for her that she actually shows any emotion about.  so this year I want to wow her.  I would so love any suggestions and advice.  thanks!

What about the Harumika fasion designer sets??? They have them at toys r us and I am sure anywhere else... Here is a pic...

And as far as the cooking goes... Umm... Maybe get her like a nice cook book and a recipe box to keep her fave recipes in??? Or maybe get her some actual pots and pans of her own to keep at your house for when she is over... OH OR MAYBE!!! Like a gift certificate for a cooking class!!! That would be nifty!!! IDK... Just a few ideas for you!!! GL!!! :)

What is her bedroom like? Is it time for redecorating?!!? She will be a teen soon, so maybe she would like a new look? ANd maybe you guys could actually go together and pick it out, and pick the paint out. It would be an awesome chance to get some quality time in too. YOu guys could talk about what kind of stuff she likes. Just sounds fun to me! =)

they have these baking cake sets in the toy isle so that they can make kid sized cakes but decorate them professionally like with fondant and stuff...i have also seen project runway design sets....crafty kits from hobby lobby, mp3 player, clothes, purses, kiddie makeup
(real makeup but in light colors like clear mascara, light pink lipstick and put it in a cute makeup box)

What about the Project Runway Fashion Design Projector Set? It's 19.99 at Toys r Us right now... Or the girl gourmet ace of cakes set? How about a certificate for cooking classes (they have them in some areas for her age group...).

Does she like to read? Is she into any music stars? Maybe get her a fun cookbook and supplies to make some of the items and save them for JUST HER in like a small rubbermaid box or something so she can use it when she wants and it will feel like it's only for her. How about a personalized apron, hot pads and kitchen towels to go along with whatever you get her?

its a project runway airbrushing kit...

If you are willing to spend a bit I would suggest a Nintendo DS and a fashion game or one of those cookbook ones...

Go on Top Chef.com and see if you can get one of those chef coats  or if too pricey maybe an apron and chef hat and then have her name embroidered on it, also a recipe book and they also have those pink kitchen utensils.
