I was wondering what do other moms tell their children about their "private parts"? What name do you use with your toddlers( made up pet names or real names like penis and vagina)???
my DS calls his part his "dinky", I dont know really why its just what we started calling it.. and honestly I'm pretty glad we didnt teach him penis because hes 3 and he talks about it when we are out and people dont really acknowledge if he says dinky but im sure if he was walking around saying penis they would lol
Your penis belongs to you. It is a private part of your body. We do not show anyone our private parts except for mommy daddy and the doctor. We do not expose our private parts unless we are in private.
Mommys private parts are not slapping bags.

I have a 6 yo girl and we have always called them both "your girl parts" or "your privates"
I am a BF, 5PT Harnassing, Co-sleeping, VAX, CIO, OCD, AR, WOTH, NON PA, Non-Spanking, CHD-Surviving, Single Mommy and PROUD OF IT!!!
"I'm out of control and at times hard to handle, but if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best. Marilyn Monroe"
I was born with a broken heart...
...and I survived it!
I tought her the real name for her parts when I tought her eyes, nose, fingers, toes, belly, and vagina. She would call it her "gina" didn't get the VA sound, and I eventually started refering to it as 'gina too. She is now 7 and I am glad I tought her the way I did. She can tell me if something is wrong with her gina like when she had a bladder infection, the same as if she was telling me she skinned her knee. I also let her know that is a private part of her body and no one should ever touch or look at it. I explained sometimes a doctor might need to but that mom should always be there if that happens. I told her to always tell me everything and never keep secrets and that no one should ever ask her to keep a secret from mom. I think all of those things are basic safety these days.
When she was older and found out that boys have a different part I told her the name for that too but that doesn't come up too much. Thank goodness!
