SS just turned 8 and BM got him a mountain bike with 20 gears...okay that's cool. But then told him he could only ride it with another adult. She doesn't have a bike, her boyfriend doesn't have one, basically NO ONE has a bike...only DH has one but BM said SS can't bring the bike to our house. So now SS is sad he has this new bike he A. doesn't know HOW to ride because BM isn't sure how the gears work either and B. Has no one to ride it with. Great present! He apparently tried riding it up and down the street but doesn't know how to really use the gears so he says it's really slow.
yeah thats a little messed up! why give a great gift like that to a child and then say that you cant ride it?! r u sure shes all there lol?
Maybe his dad can go over to BM and help him learn how to ride the new bike. Teach him to shift the gears etc. Get him a bike helmet. Then BM will feel more comfortable letting him bring the bike to your house or ride it without an adult.
Everytime I see BM I think "bowel movement" Maybe in this case I'm not too far off base, eh? lol
No, because she got it for the trails behind her house so there would really be no way to watch him without going with him.

maybe she meant that he could only ride it if an adult was outside with him watching him?
No can do, DH has a restraining order against her so that also means he can't be around her unless it's a court situation.
