I'm just wondering how many people actually feel this way. I came across someone who does not allow their son to cry and thinks its wrong for boys to cry. I think that's absolutely absurd and could possibly even be damaging to their character and self esteem to be taught its wrong. I would NEVER teach my son that he can't be comfortable showing emotion just because he's a boy! Please vote on the poll and comment if you would like. This could go for men as well. Would you ever think less of your dh/so or any other adult male for crying?

Crap.  I answered the title and not the poll question.  Yes, boys should be able to cry.

Of course they should be able to cry. I wouldn't want my son to be an emotionally stunted robot when he got older.

I did the same thing..Yes I agree boys should be able to cry. I think it's a sign of strength to be able to express your emotions and not be ashamed of them.

no way. i plan on letting my son know its ok to express his emotions. my husband's friend yelled at his son once in my house, b/c he was crying, he'd fallen and cut his finger open, i was like you have got to be kidding me, how about i take a knife to your finger cut it open then you tell me how awesome it feels!!!! since then he doesn't say shit like that in my house. as for an adult male crying, i guess really it depends on how emotional the man is, if it were a man that would cry over everything that goes wrong in life than i'd probably find it annoying, then again i find that annoying in women as well. .

I definitely think boys should be able to cry, as much as girls should. I would teach my son that he shouldn't throw fits/cry to get his way, but I would NEVER teach my son that he doesn't have just as much right to cry, just because he's a guy. I think that's horrible teaching and could be damaging throughout his entire life.

Sorry, I answered wrong because the title and the question in the poll itself don't correlate..sorry.

But no, I would never tell my sons they are not allowed to cry.

i let my sons cry if they feel hurt or in pain , i think its wrong not to. i know a few men who are cold and heartless because they said they were taught men dont cry. I do not want my boys to be emotionless ,
