If you saw my post last night about "Bones" (the stray dog that we have taken in and spent lots of money on for vet bills and supplies, he was abused and came to us "skin and bones" and is still very underweight and needs special care for injuries sustained) ...well i got thinking and remembered the trailer park owners sent a memo out last year stating "due to recent complaints we are no longer allowing new dogs in the park:" ...(the rules also state no outside dogs and only ONE dog per trailer)  We own the trailer and rent the land. There are 12 other trailers here and we are the only ones that only had ONE DOG...everyone else has 2-4 and one neighbor just got a NEW PUPPY a couple weeks ago (making it 4 dogs for him in a single wide with 4 people). My park owner doesn't like the dog I had when I moved in (Brutus is a pitbull mix who doesn't like the neighbor that throws shit at him and hits him with a trash can to antagonize him but outside of barking at the neighbor that hurts him causes NO PROBLEMS) So they are up my rear end because he "doesn't like pitbulls, because all pitbulls are vicious". I know others have broken the rules and it doesn't make it right to break them myself but this little doggy needs a good home and TLC and we are already in love with him even though our intention was to just nurse him and adopt him out...(and we took him to the vet and he said a shelter would kill him, so that is not an option!!!) So my question is do you think it would be fair if they came after me for taking care of this doggy that NEEDS us and don't say anything to the guy that literally breaks ALL THE PARK RULES? Even the park owner has 3 dogs and one is always loose....he's two trailers up. Everyone here breaks the rules and I KNOW they will come right after us because we have a pitbull and we are a young married couple!!! Is this discrimination? I don't want to lose my trailer but my husband and I are the only people who have ever cared about this dog...we even put him in the found adds online and in the paper and NO-ONE claimed him!!! He isn't an outside dog...just goes out to pee and poop and he is quiet and actually very scared. I hope they don't start any trouble but like i said ... do you think it would be fair if they came after me for taking care of this doggy that NEEDS us and don't say anything to the guy that literally breaks ALL THE PARK RULES and anyone else that also breaks the rules?

Well no, I dont think that anyone reading that story would think that it's fair. You obviously dont think it would be fair either, but the dog is already living with you, correct? So he's a part of your family. He's not going anywhere and neither are you, simple as that! Just keep to yourself.

No, not fair but there may be more to the whole no pitbull thing.  I know our insurance would go up if we had a pitbull.

It wouldn't be fair to you. You shouldn't be singled out just because you have a pitbull and it wouldn't be fair for them to just come after you especially since the owner of the park is even breaking their own rules along with everyone else. If they say anything to you then they need to say something to the other person also.

Thanks for your support...and we insure our lot and house so they don't have to worry about the pit MIX (pit/lab) the owner just "doesn't like them" I am debating whether to call them and explain the story and risk them saying i have to get rid of bones or waiting for someone to RAT US OUT?

Do you think you can "sneak" and keep him?  You said he didn't go out much.  I lived in an apartment for 13 months with a cat I wasn't supposed to have, but a dog is a little harder to hide.  Good luck!  I say keep him and fight the landlord, poor ol' Bones has had a rough enough life!

I am trying right now to sneek him...for a while we just had him going on puppy pads because he is so underfed i didn't think he would do well outside in this cold ny weather (thats why i'm so glad i found him before winter!!!) and i will try to keep him a "secret"  but our neighbor that beats our other dog is really nosey...he even tries to look in our windows (he has also tried to get me in a car accident, he drives 40 down the road then slams on his breaks when i am behiind him in my car and waves to me in the rear view mirror and then does it again and again until i either turn around or try to pass him in which case he will drive down the center of the road, not only me but other people in the park have reported him to police and they have done nothing) but either way...i will fight with everything because i love him so much...he snuggles in bed with me and i think i'm the first person to ever show him any affection.
