Working while pregnant? You're my hero!

After reading another post...I just wanted to put it out there that all you working-while-pregnant mommies are my heros! I know a lot of women do it, and even do it with other small children they have to take care of. Not to say that SAHM's don't have a tough job. But there is NO WAY I could have worked during this pregnancy. I would have just curled up and died. From the exhaustion, the swelling, the headaches, the debilitating depression, the sciatic problems...the list goes on and on. I couldn't have done it. You might say I could have if I HAD to, but I really don't think I have it in me. Some women are just stronger. So YOU are my hero!

Yeah, I didn't mention in the other post, but on top of those hours everyday in the summer, I had to deal with my step kids for the first time! Lol.

Don't sell yourself short..you probably could do anything that you had to do if you had to do it(LMAO what a sentence). I worked with all of mine and I was a waitress all the way up until I had them. Anyway, I think you could have if you needed to. I am with you, though, I was miserable when I was pregnant.

although I was only "techinally" at work until 13 weeks, but it was really hard!  I had a 9 month old at home, I was active duty  lol.  I remember sitting in my offic e at my unit and shutting the door and going to sleep.  I had morning sickness so bad I lost 20 pounds in the first 12 weeks, and I couldnt drink aything right out of the fridge cause it would come right back up, PT was a nightmare!  lol.

i worked 60-80 hours a week, with all my pregnancies, right up until the day i delivered.

and this one(my third), i'm working 60-80 hours a week and going to school.

if you are one of those overly annoying people, who seem to get offended over every little thing, and like to pull out the "judgemental" card....please, do not quote me.  i don't pay attention to stupid and i do not deal with whiners.

get yourself a tissue, grow up, and move on.  and have a great day.  :-)

I WANTED to work while I was pregnant (and technically I did for a short time because I was a month pregnant when I got fired unfairly and then a week later I found out I was pregnant) and I looked for work from the time I got over morning sickness (more like all day sickness and I couldn't even look at food) until I was about 5 months pregnant and just gave up because everyone told me if I DID find a job (I couldn't find anything in my area because I either didn't have enough experience in a field or no college degree) they wouldn't hire me while pregnant.  I did however run a somewhat successful Avon business but had to stop because I had too much stress.

Thank You! I worked during my first, but it was a fairly easy pregnancy. The worst I had was round ligament pain. But my midwife still made me stop at 26 weeks because I was climbing ladders and doing alot of crouching, bending, and she said it would be best to stop,.

My 2nd pregnancy was a little harder I had my DD who was 3 1/2  to take care of and I worked at a daycare. I got a lung infection shortly after I got pregnant and it sucked. I still went to work because I wasn't contagious and they were short staffed. It was a little easier once the moved me into the infant room, but taking care of 3 babies while 8 and 9 months pregnant is HARD WORK! But we survived and I worked until the day my contractions started.

I worked 40-50 hours a week until I delivered my DD.  I literally went on maternity leave on a Friday and had her the next Thursday.  I was lucky to have an understanding boss who would let me cut out early if I wasn't feeling well or just sit in the back office, filing papers, when my ankles swelled up.
