I am so incredibly sick of being the one that gets the kids to sleep at night. THEY ARE STILL AWAKE! Both of them....even the baby!! Kylie (the baby) was asleep and Haylie wasn't even calming down so I just decided that she could come to bed with me....well...as soon as I said we were going to bed (she had been asking me for about 30 minutes but I was glued to facebook) she started screaming (out of excitement) and woke up the freaking baby...who was btw SNORING! I mean, she was OUT! So now, its midnight at my kids are both still awake. I am so pissed off that I cannot even deal with it right now.  They  have done this the last 3 nights.   Nothing I do helps. I have tried everything...I am putting them on a VERY strict schedule tmr...I cannot do this ANYMORE! I am losing it. I am so freaking tired...I am moody...I cant do this anymore.  Last night, my oldest (Haylie...she's 2) didn't go to sleep until almost 2!!! I COULD NOT get her to sleep.

Ok, so I just turned around to check on them and Kylie passed out sitting up...she is sooo tired...(I gave her tylenol because shes getting a tooth...which is probably why she is so crabby and difficult to get to sleep)I know that if I  move her she will wake all the way up.

I feel a little better now that the baby went back to sleep...now I gotta sit here and wait for her to be totally out so that she doesn't wake up when I move her. Seriously, ladies...I can't do this anymore. I am sooo tired and strung out.  Last night, I finally fell asleep at like 2:30...because I had to wait for Haylie to fall asleep and then I had to pick up the living room because if there is anything left on our floor when we go to bed our idiot dog will eat it.  Then, Kylie woke up at like 6! I can't do this anymore! What am I supposed to do?? I know, I need to get them on a tight schedule and stick to it...they used to be on one...then we lived with my Mom for a while and it got all outta whack...so I will start that again...and hopefully it will do the trick.  Any more advice ladies?  PLEASE! I really need it...before I lose my mind!

I know how ya feel, I'm right there with ya.  It will pass.  My girls (3 DD, 13 SD) are so stressed out(we're moving 20 some hours away in a few weeks, and DH and SS have already left and my other SD moved in with her mom) and they're just so stressed cuz I'm selling everything, so day by day we have less stuff...and my family is mad at me and saying nasty things, so they're just upset and aren't sleeping.  My 3 year old is just whiney and cranky and won't sleep, and my 13 year old SD has reverted back to a little girl these last few days, making me sleep in between them and whatnot.  It will pass....just take a deep breath...maybe drink a beer, lol.

Why can't your husband help you out some nights?  Does he work at night or is he away?

Ask your pediatrician about melatonin 1mg for your oldest. Kids lack the proper levels hence their ongoing stamina until 3am... wish we were told about it 2.5 yrs ago...dd is a happier, better rested and behaved child now that she is getting the sleep she needs to function normally.  Our ped. reccommended since it is a natural chemical our bodies already produce...

I wish I could give you advice. I'm in the same boat with my 3 year old daughter. lately i've been sure to take her outside and let her run out her energy and I don't let her take naps right now otherwise she never goes to sleep.  I hope they go on their schedule for you. Goodluck.

I had that kind of a night tonight too. My kids just went to bed and what makes it worse my sister who lives with us just sat there as I fought with my 2 kids and her kid to get them all to go to bed. My DD and my niece are both extra excited they don't have school next week and DS is just always a pain.

Girl I know how you feel! I was up until 3:30am with our 2 week old. Luckily my husband puts my 2 yr old to bed every night. Good luck and just remember, It will be over eventually. Try to start a good routine with getting your older girl to bed everynight. Then she will start to get tired at the same time every night and go to sleep.

my husband works at 3 am...so I try not to get him up this late.  They are both passed out now..I guess they just needed me to do the mean mommy thing and yell at them.
