a few months ago I found a little baby snake on the bathroom floor. Dh wasn't home so his uncle came and got it and flushed it downthe toilet. He told my dh it was just a worm, but I said no, cuz a worm does not slither and has that type of a shape head. Well tonight my son told me he had there was a snake in his room and sure enough it was there. I think it was a baby racer. It was small, with some red on top and gray on the side. I got it in a jar to show dh that i' am not crazy. How are they coming in my house? My son has been having unexplain bites on him and one has actually swell up on his hand and when it popped puss came out. Anyone know what to do? There is a crack on the wall by the carpet in my son's room from last winter when it rained and water came into his room. It cracked the wall. The crack is about 7 inches long and the width(opening) is about 1 1/2 inches long.

I'm assuming they're coming in through that crack and your son is getting bitten :( sounds like they're not poisonous though! Find a way to block that crack!! Not sure what you would use to seal it. Hopefully another mom will know!

Yes we CAN and Yes we DID!!!!

so you haven't sealed up the crack yet since last winter? Seal that puppy up! you can use putty or a piece of sheet rock on the inside and then putty around it, you'll have to fix the outside though with whatever siding and prolly stuff insulation in there, ionno how your house is build. More then likely that's where snakes are getting in, and if you live in a cooler area they are coming in for the warmth and if you live in a warm area they are prolly coming in for the cool. I have no idea about the bites but they could be snake bites.

Seal the crack and they will probably stop coming in.

Our family is little and broken, but still good.

I'd ask the hardware store for advice on what products to use to fill up that crack, inside and out. They are really helpful there and if you tell them about the snakes getting in I'm sure they will be more than helpful, good luck!

Oh and supposedly moth balls repell snakes. I don't know how old your son is but you could put some under his bed and other places in your home.

My DF works at Home Depot and he has had people ask him about this very thing and he can't remember what it's called but it's like masonry sealer but for sheet rock.

Good Luck hun!

Ok I hope this makes sense....there is this foam stuff in a can you can buy. You spray it in the hole or crack and it swells up and fills it. lol I have no idea what it is called but we used it in our bathroom.

Snake bits from non venomous snakes are dangerous also. Snakes carry a lot of harmful bacteria in their mouths. If you think he has been bitten, I would take him to the Dr.

I can seal up the crack fromthe inside but the outside would be a problem. This may only be my dumb apt. but the groung goes all the way up to my son't window. why? I don't know. You can look outside and see cars come by and people but the ground is right there. That's how a few of the windows are for my neighbors too. Weird huh.
