Custody opinions please

I have an 8 yo SS who is an immature 8 due to past learning disabilities. Lately he's been a little down in the dumps, but never wants to talk about it. Finally tonight DH got him to open up and he said that the kids at his school are mean to him and never let him join in their games, and are always ignoring him. It's absolutly heartbreaking to here this. He is such a sweet kid, and very loving. We live about 20 minutes from SS mom and we have him here every weekend. Do you think that his issues at school are a plausible reason for DH to try for custody? He's been wanting custody for a while and DH and I think moving him to a new school may help. I'm just curious if this seems like a good reason to others.

Poor little guy. To answer your question, no...I don't think any court would give you custody due to kids singling him out at school. Talk to his mom about enrolling him in sports or something to boost his confidence. Talk to the school.

poor kid, but, no. The court won't switch custody for that.  I agree with a PP-find a sport or other activity for him.

My brother had that problem as a kid.  He didn't fit in with the other boys.  They all liked video games and certain things and my brother is into mechanics and hardly ever plays video games.

Everything changed his 7th grade year when he joined football though.  He is far from an excellent player but, his heart is in it for sure!  He loves the game and his teammates may not be his best friends, but, they accept him because they have something in common now.

He just finished up his 8th grade season and is looking forward to his high school career.  He is still somewhat of a loner, but, at least he doesn't get picked on anymore!!

SO sorry that he has to go through this....being a kid is way to hard.  Kids are horribly mean sometimes.
