If you were induced, why? Was is medically 'necessary'? Or you just didn't want to be pregnant anymore? Was your doctor or hubby going out of town? I just notice how it seems rare for a woman to get the chance to go into labor on her own now, it seems most women are induced.
**Just want to add I was induced with my son, he was overdue and 9 1/2 lbs! I don't know if thats medically necessary or not. Some say that a woman's body won't grow a baby it can't birth, but there are so many babies that are too big and end up having c/s. I would rather be induced than have a c/s!

i was 39weeks, tired, hurting, and my dr said it would be fine:)

I was given pitocin with my first child because I could not progress past 5cm. I stayed at 4cm for 4 days and then only went 1cm in 12 hours. I was exhausted and very uncomfortable so I was induced to speed up the process. I do not regret it at all.
I was induced with my oldest for a medical reason, according to my doctor, but it wasn't medically necessary.
I will NEVER be induced again unless it's needed for mine or my babies life.. and if that's the case I would think a c/s would be the better route.
I *bet* 9 out of 10 of those cases where the baby was "too big" had more to do with positioning of the mother than the babies size. Doctors and women are so ignorant on normal childbirth that they come up with every sort of excuse for c/s and inductions.
i guess i should have been more specific, i meant being induced to start labor.... i completely understand why you would get it though!! I can't imagine being in labor for 4 days!!!

Mine was completely medically necessary. I have a blood disorder that they were afraid would affect dd so I have given stress tests every week from 32 weeks on...I was induced at 39 weeks after they did an ultrasound and saw dd was in distress.
I believe Baby will come when it comes. I was over due 8 days and I cried on my "Due" date, all day! Getting induced WAS tempting, I mean it's so hard to wait and wonder, but I don't think anyone has been prego FOREVER! I was even scheduled to get induced on Thanksgiving last year, but I skipped out! Went into labor on my own 2 days later. My Dr. was on vacation, and ended up having a Bit** DR. But I would not have changed a thing! I'm so happy that I waited and let him come when he was good and ready! But I know how it felt to wait and wait and not know if my Dr would bbe there, but it's better to wait.
Because just for a routine checkup his heart rate dropped into the low 100's and it scared my doc so I had him 10 hours later! Plus I had already had 2 false labors was at a 4 and the way he came out my doc said he thinks it was throwing everything off. His left foot was up by his ear
I was induced the first time for med reasons. And very much necessary for her life.
The other 2 I was not induced but was givin pitocen. Went into labor on my own then they helped it along. With my 2nd DD it was because I was not having regular contraction and would not have been able to puch her out. with DS it was because I was in labor for too long.
So just one that they put me in labor and the other 2 they just "helped" labor
