Yes its petty but right now I don't care. The one day I thought would be a given to be able to go out, I'm not going to. He goes out at least once a week.

Make your own plans. Then tell him, "This is what I have decided we can do for my birthday . ." Maybe he just doesn't know what to plan.

Nope, I told him I was making enchaladas for dinner and he said OK. So yea no surprise and no going out.
And I'm fairly new to the area so I haven't really made any good friends yet to go out with.
I'm just really disappointed.
Oh and he doesn't HAVE to work, its purely volunteer. Hes laid off so hes helping his uncle and our paster. So two different jobs.

I got a gift, yeah yeah I know I should be thankful he even did that. But its that fact that he goes out every week and I haven't been out in awhile. So I figured he would at least take me to dinner or a movie or something. Or at least get a babysitter so we have some time to outselves.
Plus I have my 2 year old so I have limited options.
Mine is the same way and it is bullshit! We never go anywhere . HE won't drink with me ever! Only with his friends. There was a time he didn't even tell me happy b day and fought with me the whole day. Maybe just break down and tell him you want to go out. I can't tell my s/oanything. BUT if you can by all means step up and do that. IT sucks that we have to ask to be treated human but it's worth getting what we want. I'm sorry, i am the one that doesn't get treated right. I am a fool for acting as if you don't. Maybe you do. Touchy subject seeing how mine is to me.
