that at this point I have contacted it. My question is, have you had it, did you get medical treatment or did it go away on it's own?

I think to be sure to know if it is the H1N1 you need to be tested. My 3 year old had it last month. I got her to the doctor that day, and it lasted a week for her. She also had strep throat as well. Now that is going around just has bad as the H1N1 around here. If you have not already gone to the doctor I would go ahead and go...Better safe than sorry.

my dh got it from work was sick for the weekend he didnt go to doc. then i got it i went it to get tested for it.. sure enough i had it. they gave me some meds to stop from spreading it. and also gave me some for my kids so they would be less likely to get it. my ds whos 4 got it a few days after i got it. but my dd whos 2 didnt get it at all (thank god). if you have it get some sudafed and the liquid tylenol night time its blue colored... that'll help ya feel better!

me and my family have had it...we did not go to the doctors we just treated the symptoms. we also took in more vit d, vit c and lots and lots of fluids...it is VERY important that you stay hydrated so drink drink drink. you can also eat jello and Popsicles. drink warm tea, and try to do a neti pot (sinus cleanse) it is supposed to help wash all the bacteria out. thats where the virus lives. check out the cdc website for warning signs and when to see the doctor. get well soon :)

I have pumped up the Vitamin C and I rest when I can. My husband works 3rd shift. In ref to the ? that I have it, My husband is a paramedic and he had gotten it a few months ago. I haven't called the Dr. to make an appt yet, because my fever comes and goes so fast I end up shivering so bad I can't control my body.  I had just got my 3 yr old vaccinated but my 5 yr old had a fever and couldn't get her's. I have asthma that is why I am so concerned.

It will go away on its own.

There is Tamiflu; but most doctors are not willing to prescribe it anymore unless a person requires it. (those with other health conditions)

Just this weekend Duke University has saw some cases of mutated h1n1 that does not respond to tamiflu. It got that way due to doctors over treated flu with that medicine.

So rest, and stay hydrated and you will get over it within a week or so.

most people are assuming they do have it. Doctors are even assuming. Reason being is that the actual test is expensive. The nasal swab that doctors use is just to see if you have a flu. It doesn't distinguish between the two flus; A and  H1n1. In areas where seasonal flu has not hit yet; those people with flu symptoms probably do have h1n1. Then again, you run into the problem of people with a cold saying they have the flu.

I 'THINK' my kids have had it because they had every symptom other than diarrhea and vomiting (my 7 yr old had nausea) but that's about it. They had the most high fever they ever had in there life, horrid cough, sore throat, everything. I took them in and they told me to keep them hydrated and give them Motrin and Tylenol and that's all they can do. They said its MOST LIKELY the H1N1 flu...it makes me mad that they don't test anymore =(

That test is so expensive.

If they were to test everyone; you would run into a lot of people complaining about the cost and then the subsequent big pharma being out to get you. Its a lose lose situation. Don't test; have angry people. Test, and have angry people.

The only reason it would be important to test, are those who wind up with severe complications from it. Most people do not need to know for sure if they in fact have H1n1.
