I don't know how many freaking posts i've read w/ either the op or ppl replying say that ppl that have c-sections are lazy or ignorant or just to scared of the pain. That's complete b/s given my first c/s was bc i had twins and it was an emergency (they were 27 weekers) but my second pregnancy also was a c/s.  healthy pregnancy full term everything i could of had natural labor if i wanted to. but i didn't b/c of the risks of my scar re-opening (extremely high b/c of prematurity and about 5 other things). 2 of my friends had c/s b/c there babies were too big (i've heard b/c of their position or w/e but when you've been in labor for 24 hrs after your water breaks and no matter what you do the baby won't fit in ks it's protocal to do c/s) i've never heard of someone doing it b/c it's easier. a c/s is major surgery going through several layers of muscle and tissue. the pain you feel after is horrible (not saying labor isn't extremely painful) especially when they want you to walk just to the bathroom the first time.... i'm just sick of people belittling others because they had a c/s! sorry about the vent but enough really!

Well....there is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY my children could be delivered vag. Not bc I was lazy or afraid of pain...but bc with BOTH there was complete placenta previa. The placenta for both was completely covering my cervix and there was no way possible to deliver vaginally.

I had my c-section with my son in Aug '08. I was 5 days past my due date, went in because u/s showed low fluid level. Got to the hospital, they started to induce labor. Gave me pitocin, broke my water, and 14 hours later. Nothing. Doctor said that my baby could not get down, I wasn't dilating, nothing was happening. So, we prepared for c-section. My son was born, 9lbs 10oz 20 1/2in long with huge shoulders lol Doctor said there would have been no way around the c-section. My husband and I are TTC our second, and if we get blessed to concieve again, it will be a scheduled repeat c-section for me. Not because it was easy. Because it certainly was not. I would like to add that I get sick of people saying that. And just because I didn't push my kid out of my vagina, doesn't make me any less of a mother.

My first two were vaginal births.  My third was a c-section.  I had pre-eclampsia and polyhydramnios.  I had to deliver my daughter at 30 weeks and with the excess fluid (was 30 weeks and measured at 42) they couldn't break my water naturally or else the force of pressure would have killed her and me.

Don't worry about what people say.  Just roll your eyes at the comments and chalk it up to ignorance.

*ETA*  My c-section was much more painful than my vaginal births.

I had a c-section with my son after about 13 hours of labor and only dialating 2 cm. The idea that women have c-sections to avoid pain is laughable at best... a c-section hurts like hell. Sure there are some that schedule these things because they want to keep their stuff intact but its rare.

That being said... for the second one (when ever I have one) I think I am going to try for a water birth :)

I feel you mama I tired 2 twice to labor naturally and guess what happened. My heart rate would get so high that I was on the rim of going into heart failure. First with my DD and then when I tried to Vbac with my first DS. With my second DS a scheduled c/s, I went into labor early and this last time my heart rate wouldn't go down after he was out so now I am on heart meds. Hubby freaked and got a vasectomy 2 weeks after my younger DS was born.

ETA my heart rate for all three times was around 190 - 200 beats per minute...they were kind of freaking out in the OR and I didnt understand why b/c I felt fine lol.

I had my son naturally, but in no way do I feel people who have C-sections are lazy! My SIL pushed for 2 days and then had to have a C-section or else my nephew would have died :( thank god she had a C-section!

yeah the pain i felt for over a month afterward was not "easy" thats for sure lol. the actual like 15 minutes of surgery is easy because you dont feel anything but it kicks you in the butt afterwards that's for sure!

I wasnt given a choice. Went to the hospital with VBAC intentions, 25 hours of labor, doctor ordered a c-section. Blame doctors, not mothers.

Some people are so passionate about the strangest things.  *shaking head*

I had a c/s by choice.  No one's life was in danger...I asked my doc to do it and she did.  Does that make me lazy?  I think not.  Does it make me ignorant?  No, I did my research.  Does it make me afraid of the pain?  No, I have a very high pain threshold, thank you.  Does that make my birth story boring?  Not to me.  Anyone who doesn't like MY birthplan can go make up their own birthplan and see to it that it gets carried out.   : )
