I'm torn...what would you do? PLEASE NO DEBATE!!!
Yes, it's about the swine flu vax, and no I don't want a debate :)
Anyways. Long story short-my oldest daughter is 5, and in Kindergarten. The middle of October (Oct 13), she got a low grade fever and sore throat, and tested positive for type A & B flu...she had the flu mist on Sept. 19...
Last week, Nov. 16, she had a 102-104 fever, chills, fatigue. Went to the dr. tested positive for Type A flu.
So here's my problem. I would be all for giving her the vaccine seeing her immune system sucks. BUT, they are only giving the mist at our dr's office and in the schools. I almost refuse to put the LIVE virus into her, yet I feel like I would be allowing her to get sick again. UGH. Please, someone tell me I would not be a bad mom if I don't let her get it....
I'm torn as well. My daughters haven't been too sick, just some low grade fevers and colds, so far. But, we've had a few cases in our area, including one death. I've heard bad things about the vaccine, so I'm not sure whether I should get my girls vaccinated with the H1N1 or not. So, I hope you get some good advice to help with your decision. Good luck!

All 4 of my eligible daughters received the flu mist last week (3 at school and one at the Dept. of Health, because that is the only place I could get us some) and there were zero effects from it. And I am very glad I did.
My mother has been a nurse for 30 years....I poised my concerns to her about the live virus mist when I found out that is what my children will be receiving. She informed me (as well as my physician) that my childrens risk of contracting H1N1 flu from the much weakened virus is minimal compaired to what it would be if the contracted it through direct contact. So I weighed the options and felt the risk with the mist was less than actually contracting it. I"m glad I chose the mist...it worked well for us.
