i finally decided to call the cops about someone messing around my house. someone stole my gas over the weekend. i went to get into my truck and there wasn't any gas in my truck and i know the last time it was driven it had 1/2 tank in it. that on top of the other stuff that has happen since i moved in has got me to believe that someone has messing around our house. hell about a month ago someone has busted my window out of my car.
but he acted like he didn't believe me, like i must have let my truck run out of gas and a rock might have flown up and hit my window which is bullshit, no rock is going to do the damage that was done to that window and i never let my truck or my car run out of gas never below a quarter of gas. and the other stuff that has happen i mention it all. well it just pisses me off that he didn't believe me.
anyways i just needed to vent
Here is something shocking sometimes cops don't like you either. What exactly would you like him to do for you with no proof of anything. Buy yourself a locking gas cap and install a cheap camera to catch who is doing this. Cops don't have magic. If you don't have a clue who is doing this what makes you think the cop is going to know? Sorry to be a bitch but sometimes it pisses me off that people want to blame the police for things that are just as much out of their control as it is for you.
I'm sorry. I don't mean to sound harsh but what did you expect him to do? If you haven't seen anyone actually doing these things and there is no indication of who might be doing it there really isn't anything the cops can do. Did you expect him to have someone stationed outside of your house to catch the person? I'm sorry you felt like he didn't believe you, but cops have much more important things to deal with then your suspicions that someone is messing with your house. YOU need to be more proactive and see if you can catch who is doing it. I don't mean litterally going out and grabbing them, but watch and see if you can spot the person doing it and THEN call the cops. Even get it on video if possible.

i didn't expect him to do anything except umm maybe his job and file a report which he didn't do. but the way he acted was like he didn't believe me and that is what pisses me off. i mean i didn't make the shit up.and that is the reason why i didn't call the cops when it all started to happen. because every single time i have had runend with cop they always have pissed me off just like the time my car was broken into and the DVD player was stolen no report was made or anything.
If you report it there has to be a report. Its the law. Just go down to the station and make sure its filed.

I had a similar story except we were involved in a hit and run accident. The guy that hit us ran a red light and never stopped. When the cops showed up they acted like we were at fault and just some dumb kids. It wasn't until a couple that had seen the accident stopped to give the cops the other driver's license plate number that they agreed to make a report. As far as I know they never found the guy. My friend ended up fixing his truck on his own and we had to pay our own medical bills.
I'd do like one of the pp said, set up some cameras so you can get proof. Otherwise there is little they can do without knowing who is doing it.

i didn't expect him to do anything but at least file a report which he didn't do. i wasn't even the one who called the cop my landlord did because i called her and asked her if she ever experience anyone messing around her when she lived here and it was her idea to call them and she did and met him here. i know they have more important stuff to do but filing a report when someone is messing around your house and start vandaling your stuff and stealing stuff it is there job.
my landlord is going to install some security lights and i am going to put a camera outside because to much shit has happen in the past 2 months, and i want to know what is going on and who is doing it. but my landlord thought it would be a good idea to call the cop just so a report of everything that has happen will be in file and he didn't right down any info or anything
I've worked with a sheriffs office before. Just because they didn't write anything down in front of you does not mean a report wasn't filed. If you had no info to give him other then you had gas stolen and a rock threw your window that is not hard to remember and write in a report. A lot of times I would write my reports without notes because they were not needed. The incident was so minimal and there were no specific facts that it was easy to do by memory. If you really want to know if a report was filed you can call the police station and they can give you a copy of it. Every call that a police officer goes out on gets a report filed. But just keep in mind just because you don't see them sitting there writing the report or scribbling away in a notebook (that is very "hollywood" and a misconception because of tv and movies, not every cop keeps notes in a notebook while talking to a witness) doesn't mean a report wasn't filed. So please don't just jump to conclusions.

well there was more then just the window and the gas, there was other stuff that has happen within the past 2 months that i told him about. but what i have been told they are suppose to get your name, birthday, phone numbers, make and models of the cars ect.. and he didn't get anything. i mean i am not really worried about it to much it just kinda pissed me off that he didn't take any info. i know he can't do anything about what happen my landlord want a report filed so that why she called.
when the other stuff happen i didn't file a report because i knew there was no way to know what happened, no one know what happen or who did it so i didn't even bother, i did call and see if any vadisim has happen in the area but that was it.
