My son's head got stuck in his swing! Please bump!
So, I was just going through some old pictures and found this one-

I didn't think too much of it then. I already had the camera in hand, taking pictures of every move he made, so it's not like I ran out of the room to get my camera while my son was suffering, so don't try to bash me for that. (first time mom!) But anyways, since he wasn't hurt, I didn't think it was that big of a deal. I didn't think of the other kids that this could happen to, whose parents may not have been right there, camera ready. I just got off the phone with Fisher Price customer service. There had been a recall on this TYPE of swing, but my model was not listed.
It is the Fisher Price Open Top Take Along Swing. This specific fabric design was specificially sold at Target, but there are many other ones, including the Precious Planet, STILL being sold! So PLEASE, if you DO buy this swing, only use it under IMMEDIATE supervision. If you have it, they will refund you $33 and send you a label to return it with, prepaid by them.
I just don't want any babies to get hurt. It could have ended badly, but thankfully, I was a foot from him.
He flopped over to the side while it was still swinging. His head and neck were getting caught between the bars on the backswing because it wasn't stopping. It would have choked him everytime it swung back.
Quoting cmb121906:I;m not seeing where his head is stuck. Just looks like he is leaning over saying hi or something lol
Ohhh, I understand now. Oh ya, glad they were recalled now that I can see what was happening!!

He couldn't lift his head back up? I have one like that and never had a child "stuck" in it.

check out my daughters myspace page. it is for people to get to know a little about her and what a beautiful baby girl she was before she went home to rest with God.

think about it...If the swing goes backwords his head and neck are going to smash off of the back support bar. Plus squishing him inbetween the two bars. Since he's just sitting there hes fine but if the parents were busy thinking the babies fine swinging...they could get hurt, maybe not severly (unless left for a LONG time) but still noone wants there baby to suffer any pain =)

No, he couldn't. It was going too fast and he was too young to be able to sit up that quickly and unassisted.
Ones like it were recalled in '07, for the same reason, but since it didn't include my fabric design, they continuted to sell them.

i had two different swings, and my son didn't do this until right around the time he was getting too heavy to be in them. the first time i saw him do it, he was just having a snack and listening to the little lullabies, then all of a sudden he leaned over and smacked his forehead. i never let him sit in his swings or bouncer unsupervised, so it wasn't a huge deal, but it WAS the last time i put him in it.
