They will ONLY cover homebirth? Or they will NOT cover homebirth? Most insurance plans will not cover it, period.

I am a Private School sending, Vaccinating, Non spanking, Nightmare Cuddling, Dessert Giving, Homework Helping, Bedtime Kissing, Book Reading, Academic pushing Mum. I believe in the benefit of organized after school activities. I believe in spoiling my children. I believe that I have seen the village and I do not want it raising my child - I will do that, Thank You. I believe that a woman's place is in the home taking care of her house, children and husband. I am submissive and proud, my husband is head of my home. I am a proud, traditional Roman Catholic, as is my husband... Yes we are teaching our daughter that The Church is the only Church.               Aimee

yea, thats basically what they are saying but why not say that. Why give that crazy guideline? THey paid twenty eight thousand dollers for ds birth but they wont pay 5000$ so I can have the birth I want.

Lol, their wording is silly.... so I suppose that a 12 year old could have a homebirth, right?

Anyway, the problem is not the price of the homebirth.... it is that in some states midwives do not have to carry any type of malpractice. If you do a completely unassisted homebirth they consider it dangerous. You are of course free to do as you wish, but you may have to pay for it out of pocket. Much like if I want a tummy tuck that isn't medically necessary - lol, I may want insurance to cover it, but they likely will not :o)
