OK just got the new vouchers for wic.
DAYUM. 32 jars of baby food? LOL wow. Kids really eat that much? IDK cuz ds only eats table food..... But man. Anyway. They put it on the check with the cereal, and theres no one i know who needs baby food, so i only cashed out teh cereal and the cashier goes "wheres the rest of it?" and i told him that wyatt doesnt eat the baby food and he rolled his eyes.
Okk....
Then I used the fruits&veggies voucher. $10 is awesome =] But really, its kinda sucky that its all on ONE check, cuz usually that many veggies goes bad in my fridge. But whatever. I got alot for it. 2 avocados, a mango, some kiwi, lettuce, etc etc. Well, I only spent $7.50, because i KNEW it would go to waste here. DH is not a healthy eating kinda guy, i have to somehow SNEAK it in the foods and after a while, it gets irritating and i cave LOL
So the dude rings them up, and goes "what about the $2.50 left?" i said "i dont need it" and he goes "ungrateful bastards" under his breath. I was like wtffff. I got a crapload of them. i got bananas, tomatos, along with the things listed above, and some sweet potatoes for lil man. TONS. My bottom drawer is FULL. WTF is wrong with only buying WHAT YOU NEED. I mean jeesh. Why throw the govt money down the drain, you know?
So after he rang me up, i proceeded to walk to customer service and put in a complaint. How frickin rude.
Oh and the onlyyyy thing i can vent about wic is that they pulled my whole milk LOL. DS is already on milk and i only give him whole LOL now i have to buy it myself! LOL j/k its no big deal

What a jerk! I would have complained too. At my WIC department they even have a poster saying if you don't need it don't get it because they can use the money you don't use to help other people.
Oh yeah and how old is your son? From ages 12 months to 24 months they should give you whole milk for him and then after 2 2% or whatever.
Well, wow. I didnt know that WIC gave fruit and baby foods. Here-they only give formula and like milk and cheese and such.
And I would be superrrrr f-ing mad about that kid.
ugh i never understood why people would GET something they'd never use. And around here, its big to sell the wic items.. :sigh:

OMG. I've never had anyone complain. I don't use all my checks, EVER. Fruits and Veggies are the only checks I use. I get 16 dollars though, 10 for me since I am breastfeeding and 6 for Becka whose 3.
I got the baby food too. For 1 month we have two checks totally 64 jars of baby food, 31 jars of meat, and 3 boxes of cereal. I doubt any of it will get used. I am going to call my local office and see about getting more money for fruit/veggies and none of the baby food. I know some states allow for changes... we'll see here. I will be making almost all of my own anyways.
Why is he already on milk? They aren't supposed to have it until at least 12 months old..
i get that all the time at the base commissary. before the new checks, we used to get checks for at least 5 gallons of milk each month, (not including dd's lactose-free milk) and dh and I never drink that much milk!! so yeah, i hear that too. its sad, but its just a part of using WIC.

WIc does give you way more than you need. Sometimes I wish we could get some wic but i think wed have to have like two more kids and dh could never take any overtime for us to qualify. But I sure would not mind the extra milk and fruit that stuff is expensive I just paid 30 for 6 things of straberries and two bags of grapes.

we talked it over with the pediatrician and it was determined it was best for HIM.

So your "ungrateful" because you DIDN'T take advantage? Wow, things people say never amazes me. I hope that customer service actually does something to that guy.
