Celexa

My doctor just put me on Celexa last Friday. So I have been taking it for three nights now. I just feel so...out of it. Like in a daze. I'm not any more or less happy or sad. I have no thoughts of suicide. I'm just like..here...does that make sense? Has anyone else ever been on Celexa and had any side effects? I was on Paxil right after my son was born for Post-Partum Depression, but that was four years ago. Will this feeling go away or should I ask my doc to change it? Thanks mommas!

No. I just mean I feel the same as I did when I first started taking it. Which was only 3 days ago. I'm just wondering if this "dazed" feeling will go away or if I should try to get on something else.

You may feel that way the first week. It will go away, If it doesn't call your Dr.  It could take up to a few weeks to notice a change. Give it a chance. I have been taking it a little over a year and I feel wonderful for the most part.

I was put on it after one of my best friends died when we were in 10th grade. It too made me feel that way for a while, but it eventually went away. If it doesn't go away talk to your Doctor maybe your dosage is too high?

I'm also on 20 a day. It will go away after a few days to a week and then you will start feeling better.

I posted something similar when I started it. I have developed a severe anxiety problem.

For a little less then a week I felt like I had to force myself to blink. Like my eyes were always really wide and dilated.

Also, when I yawned my spine tingled a lot longer then normal, lol.

That tunnel, weird, emotionless feeling went away soon!

Now I am doing much better, and am actually going to ask for a slight increase in dosage, because I am still have some anxiety attacks every few days. It has helped tremendously. I was having three to four serious panic attacks, long lasting, every single day.

Just give it at least a few weeks to get into your system, that feeling will go away eventually!

It can take up to six weeks or so for you to know how an antidepressant works. You might wanna give it a little more time. With that being said, I felt horrible on Celexa. I felt completely spaced out. I felt the same thing on Paxil. I am on Wellbutrin, Trazadone, and Remeron now and they work great.
