Law Makers Propose "War Surtax" to Pay for Troop Increase In Afghanistan

Ok so if this becomes policy how do you feel about it? I have seen it on several news sites today, fox news just had the simplest explanation. I am torn on how I feel. On one hand the troops need the funding, because if they are not going to pull them out they need the equipment and extra help. On the other hand people are struggling as it is and it would be a huge burdened on everyone. What are your views, other then the obvious bring them home now because right now it is unrealistic for that to happen.

I know. I have always thought that the EIC was a littl backwards anyway. I mean shouldn't the people who work hard and earn money get it versus people who bring in very little. It is like being rewarded for not doing well. Oh and I agree the wealthy are way overtaxed, just doesn't seem right that you are punished for doing well with your life.

Umm not hardly. Although I feel that the wealthy are already overtaxed, and I agree with a pp that said if the government did away with the EIC the government would have millions to use. Regardless the government needs money to fund the war so it will come from somewhere either way.

I don't care how they get the money or where they get it... Just so long as they STOP sending soldiers into war without all they need to get the mission accomplished.

We need more men over there or we need to come home. It's that simple. What they have now is nothing less than a blood bath and complete lack of support from home.

Even the soldiers are tired of this war.

I want to support getting rid of the Taliban. But I am SICK of my husband being deployed every other year. I am SICK of my friends being deployed. We haven't even got all the welcome home banners down and our guys are already on orders to go again.

I am sick sick sick of it. 

And yes I know what I signed up for.

I know what you mmean. Hubby was in Afghanistan last year and he has said many times that if they would send more troops and better equipment then they could complete the goals.
