Kindness of Strangers!

I had just walked out of Save A Lot when a young kid approached me. He informed me that my tire was flat. He got back into his car and pulled away. I put my groceries in the car and walked around the side of my car. My tire was completely flat. I was alone with no phone and was trying to figure out what to do. This man was walking across the parking lot and I asked him if he had a phone I could use because my tire was flat, he asked if I had a spare with me and when I answered yes, he said "well, let's get to it then, little lady" He then proceded to change my tire. I offered to pay him and thanked him over and over, he waved away my money and shook my hand. Then, he went on his way.

Thank you, to the kind stranger who helped me out today!!

that was sweet of him! I keep telling my fiance to watch me while I change my tire so he can make sure I'm doing it right, I think knowing how to change a tire is useful!

Awwww! Changing a tire is super easy though, you should have someone teach you so you never have to rely on someone if you are ever in that situation again.

I was 7 months pregnant and broke down in the left hand lane of US Highway 1. I got out of my car and tried to push it out of the lane, but couldn't, and DOZENS of cars just drove right on by instead of helping me. I was very dissappointed in people after that. One thing I have learned? There's alot of assholes in my part of Florida.

That was nice of him! I wouldn't have any clue how to change a tire.

 Thats really sweet!

I have a kindness story of my own. When I 8 months prego with my son, I was going to pick up his father who was at work. I noticed I was a lot closer to "E" than I thought. I had $5 in my pocket and thought I could make to to the store for gas. I was wrong, I made it to the top of a hill at a light and my car died. The nearest gas station was still almost a mile away, so I got my portable tank out and put on my emergency lights and started walking... with every one passing my by. I didn't get too far when a girl stopped and asked if I needed help. I asked her if I could get a ride to the gas station up the road and she was like sure! So, I go in (she didn't look like a cereal rapist, lol) she took me to the store and waited while I went pee and filled my gas can. On the way back to my car, we continued chatting and she gave me a napkin and told me not to open it untill I got out. I was like ... ok... and thanked her for the help and got out and filled my tank with gas and got in my car and waited for the light to change. Once I got to my son's father's work place, I opened the napkin to find $10 and a note that said, if you need help, call me! I almost cried... I've never been helped like that by a stranger. I was going to call her (the note had her number on it) and thank her again, but my asshole ex accidently threw it away and took the trash out... I was livid. I've never forgotten about her good deed and still would love to thank her.

that was nice of him. :o)

last year, on the way to take my stepsons home after the summer, my car died. (head gasket) we were 2.5 hours from home and 5.5 hours from their house, on the side of 20 in weatherford. my husband saw a drilling rig a ways back from the highway, so he set off there, and it was me, 2 of my ss, my son and daughter. we got out of the car (it was hot as hell) and stood in the grass between the highway and the service road. cars kept zooming by, a couple honked (wow, thanks lol) but no one stopped. to top it off, my cell was dying and i couldnt use the car charger bc..my car was dead. lol then a blue suv slowed down, took the exit, and came back. it was a man and his wife, and they stayed with us til my husband got back. they offered to let us sit in the car, but i said no thanks...(call me paranoid) but they did stay there for about 20 minutes til daniel got back. they were really nice.

sooo, then...daniel called his friend that lived not too far from where we were, as he was on his way, 2 more people stopped, a guy pulling a flatbed, and a lady in a white suv. the guy let the kids sit in his truck in the ac (he was standing with us, by my car) and the lady had a cooler of water that she let us have, (i didnt realize how hot i was til i drank some, then i was dizzy...it was summer in tx) she gave the kids gum and then gave daniel $35, all the cash she had. he tried to tell her no, it was ok, but she said "its my money, and i will give it to who i please, and im giving it to you. so take it." LOL she cracked me up. they stayed there til daniels friend got there. i never knew anything other than what they drove. i knew the guy was on a schedule, and stopping to help us made him late, but he didnt care. and i only knew that bc i moved some of his papers off the seat when the kids got in. he never said anything about it.

theres other people, strangers, that have helped us, but that incident stands out to me the most right now.

My sister broke down on a dark street one night on her way home from work (an hour a way) in December, in Canada....suddenly a biker pulled up and scared the crap out of her....she rolled her window down a crack and he asked her who he could call (before everyone in the world had a cell phone).  She slipped him a piece of paper with our home # on it and he zoomed off - came back 5 mins later and told her our dad was on his way but he was just going to sit on his bike and wait....so he sat there for almost an hour in the cold until my dad got there.... as soon as my dad pulled up he waved and drove off, before they could even say thank you.
