hey ya'll i need some help getting my 16 month to be nicer to my daughter. She is 3 months. He likes mess with her and poke at her. He gets mad when I hold her and hits me. I try to give him attetiona and all. He wasn't like this when I had her. It just beem this last few weeks. He used to give her hugs and kisses but Idk what happen. Please help me
Idk...I only have one child...but maybe trying to set aside an hour or whatever just for him? Let him know that he will have his one-on-one time and you have SO watch the newborn at that time...or when the baby goes to bed, it's just the two of you. What about having a movie day? Just you and ds go to the movies or rent one or whatever...but just the two of you. He's feeling left out right now and that's probably why he's acting out.
Ask him to help out by getting diapers and wipes for you. Have him help feed the baby. Include him in as much as you can. My son never did this but I know if he would have I would have put a stop to it right away. I am very stern with my children and don't let them get away with too much. Put him in the corner when he does that and explain that being mean to his sibling is wrong and you won't stand for it. Good luck.
