He's taken the "terrible 2s" to the extreme!! I just want to cry!!

My son....He'll be 26 months next week...And he's driving me INSANE!!!!  The entire past week, he hasn't listened to a thing I've said.  He screams at me just for talking to him.  He sits at the dinner table and cries because he doesn't want what we're having and I refuse to make him something special...I'm not a short-order cook.  He cries for 10-15 min when I get him water instead of juice.  We babysat his little friend yesterday and he was so mean to her that I finally just put him in his room and let him have a temper tantrum until he fell asleep.  He's just getting on my every last nerve, I don't know what to do with him anymore.  We're 1200 miles from all family so it's not like I can just call up my parents and ask if he can come spend the night.  DH and I have counseling tomorrow so DS will be going to his friend's house, and I'm going to ask the mom if DS can stay a couple extra hours so I can have a little break...(We exchange babysitting so I'm sure she'll be okay with it...She watches DS and in return I watch her DD.)

I just wish I could get my DS to listen to me....

Yeah my daughter has been throwing herself on the floor if she doesnt get what she wants.  I just tell her plainly that I will not stand for that behavior and walk away.  If she wants something, she has to tell me what she wants and say please or she doesnt get it.  Everyone else jumps when she has these tantrums or gives in, but I refuse to allow her to do it with me!  She doesnt do it often but she knows she can get away with it with her grandparents.
