So my Son has grown out of his Britax Marathon carseat. I loved this seat. So I decided to stick with the brand and go get the Marathon. After 3 days and 2 trips to the fire department I opted to take it back. It has the latch system but I couldn't get it to tighten down enough that it didn't wiggle. Even the fire department couldn't do it. I mean I could move this thing halfway across the seat in my Mini van. We read all the directions and watched the online videos. Nothing helped.

So today I took it back and got the Graco Nautilus 3-in -1 carseat. Not only did I have it put together in less than 10 minutes but I installed it into the van in less than 2. It has a cup holder in the armrest. The Britax had one but it was down on the side and my son couldn't reach it when he was put into the harness. The Graco also has little storage cubbies in the armrests for the kids.

I love this carseat and bonus it was $100 cheaper than the Britax. I just wish I had read the consumer reviews before I went to the store and bought the Britax. it would ahve saved me a ton of headache.

Have you ever had to return a carseat?

I'm still considering getting this for DS when we get our tax returns. I'm sorry you had such crappy luck!

I love my Frontier.  I didn't use Latch though, I just used the seat belt, and it doesn't move very much at all.  I've never had to return one though.

It's pretty sad that I have my full body weight leaning out of the car pulling on the straps that tighten the latch system and I can't get it to tighten. It won't even move. but when I take it out of the car it works. I dunno. it was bulky and a pain in the butt.

Goes to prove that not every car seat fits every car and this is a prime example!

I am glad you got the other seat and happy with that.

Thanks. We have both a Dodge mini van and a Ford Focus (fuckus) lol and it didn't work in either vehicle. But I'm grateful for the return option. otherwise we would have been stuck with a hated car seat.

I HAAATE my frontier with a passion, momma. You're not alone. After days of trying and actually injuring myself in the process I got it. Only to have to move it a few months later and it was no easier to reinstall the second time. Mine too would slide half way across the back seat. I think it's outrageous! These seats have so many damn stipulations on how you can use them.

- some cars (certain positions in my back seat) the LBP wont reach

- SBP wont tighten, if your buckle on your safety belt doesn't fit inside the back slot of the car seat, you will never get it tight either. Then again, I tried mine in an old car with the thin metal buckles it went all the way up into the routing area and the damn seat still moved all over.

It shouldn't be so hard to use. Shame on britax. They should pull them damn thing until they can make it better. Also my harness straps twist all of the damn time. Every time I put him in the car. I also had the marathon before, and the straps never twisted. The straps on the frontier are much thinner and cheaper feeling. I did keep mine because I was able to finally get in decently. DS really complained about the nautilus , I dont think there was enough room in the crotch strap area...so I had to make it work or go with a booster.

Did you put your knee into the seat and put your weight on it while tightening the straps?

I sat in the seat while 2 firemen pulled in the straps and it didn't budge.

I wasn't the only one hurt! Woohoo. Now I don't feel like such a dummy. I actually broke my finger trying to install it.
