Many families have young children whose grandparents are deceased, distant, or otherwise unavailable. At the same time, there are many responsible, caring, older adults who would love to be surrogate grandparents. That is wonderful.....I actually am interviewing "grandmothers/grandfathers" right now for a sitter when in laws or my dad cant watch the girls

That's awesome When I was little my girl scout troop adopted grandparents from the retirement community in our town. They were from Turkey and didn't have any family around. We would go visit them once a month and I remember going to their house around Christmas to take them presents.
