Is it wrong to watch soap while my 7 years old is in the same room as me?

My daughter is home this week for thanksgiving break. i had the tv on and i forgot that One life to live was on.  I turn it off when i realized she was on the sofa.  do you watch soap while the kids are home.

I don't watch TV but definitely wouldn't watch that trash! Especially not with kids around.

no, I don't watch soaps...but I do watch "court tv" or "oxygen" and they have all those "dectective" or "who dunnit" shows on..and then I have to stop and think that even having the local news on is baaaaaaaaaad!

My DD is only 21 months and I watch Y&R. She naps for the first half and plays with her toys for the second half.

i know, i never watch the crime shows when my daughter is home either.

I don't really like soaps so I don't watch them, but my mom used to watch them all the time when I was little before I started school and when I was on vacations from school. I don't think it scared me. lol I didn't even understand them.

I watch GH, but most of the time my kids are sleeping.  However if they are awake and I still decide to watch it I just turn it if there are inappropriate (sex usually if it's anything) scenes.

personally- i dont think that there's anything really bad about it.. but then again- thats how i learned about sex.. sooo... yea... be careful.

I Tivo them and watch them after they go to bed, that way i can FF through the commercials and I can actually watch them in silence lol
