Wanted: Help for technically challenged (me): MP3 player, external hard drive, notepad, wii

OK.......this is soo annoying to me because I work on a computer every day and still don't know this stuff.  Thing is, I've been broke for a long time and if I am not out to buy, I don't keep up.  But now, I want to buy (for christmas and for myself), so I am hoping you guys can help me out (I love CM for this reason).  Sorry I am so technically challenged!

#1-What is the difference between and actual iPod (brand name) and any other mp3 player.  I know iPods use iTunes (I don't know anything about iTunes either.....care to help me out with info here as well, go for it: how does it work) but do others use iTunes as well?  Why are other name brands (not iPods though) so much cheaper?  Is it someTHING or just because iPods are "the thing" to get?  What makes iPods so different in price?

#2-What size memory for an MP3 player is good for someone that likes a lot of music (but can't pay to buy a lot) and maybe some, but not much, vidoe here or there (at the most 1 or 2 movies)

#3-What size external hard drive for someone that wants to store almost all memory hogs on it rather then on a lap-top that has a small memory.  I'm talking lots of pics, some home video, maybe some movies..........not a ton of any of these, but a fair amount of pics.

#4-Any info you can give me on notebooks/notepads (the ones that surf the web and not much more): what is good, what is bad, what prices are fair?

#5-If I buy a Wii, what accessories must I buy to get descent benefit for small children and/but mostly for me for fitness (I want Fit and the balance board but don't know what else would be necessary)!

THANKS IA FOR ANY HELP!  I need to make some decissions about these for Black Friday shopping and don't have a clue!  I hate being and am sorry I am so challenged in this area!

There were some really cheaper ones...but honeslt they just didn;t seem worth the money. They were flimsy. There were also some higher priced non apple ones, but I use an iMac...and love apple. So I personally figured if I was going to spend over $100 I amy as well go the extra $20-$30 for the apple.

#2-What size memory for an MP3 player is good for someone that likes a lot of music (but can't pay to buy a lot) and maybe some, but not much, vidoe here or there (at the most 1 or 2 movies) We went with the 16gb because its the one we got a deal on on black friday. Had we not got the deal 8gb would ahve been sufficient. Shes only 9...she has movies. music games and she hasn't filled 1/4 of the space.

#3-What size external hard drive for someone that wants to store almost all memory hogs on it rather then on a lap-top that has a small memory.  I'm talking lots of pics, some home video, maybe some movies..........not a ton of any of these, but a fair amount of pics. I have no idea.

#4-Any info you can give me on notebooks/notepads (the ones that surf the web and not much more): what is good, what is bad, what prices are fair? I would always go with the Macbook...they just work(lol)

#5-If I buy a Wii, what accessories must I buy to get descent benefit for small children and/but mostly for me for fitness (I want Fit and the balance board but don't know what else would be necessary)! As far as accessories...when you buy games just see which ones the games need and buy those. You wont need any accessories that you dont have a game for.

THANKS IA FOR ANY HELP!  I need to make some decissions about these for Black Friday shopping and don't have a clue!  I hate being and am sorry I am so challenged in this area!

#3-What size external hard drive for someone that wants to store almost all memory hogs on it rather then on a lap-top that has a small memory.  I'm talking lots of pics, some home video, maybe some movies..........not a ton of any of these, but a fair amount of pics.I have a 500GB and have over 1,000 of movies/picture/music and I oviously havnt put a dent in it.. For under $100 you can get a 1TB (I would go with that to make sure you have PLENTY)

#5-If I buy a Wii, what accessories must I buy to get descent benefit for small children and/but mostly for me for fitness (I want Fit and the balance board but don't know what else would be necessary)! We just got a Wii lastnight off CL BRAND NEW IN BOX for $125 it came with sensor bar and one set of controllers (controller and nunchuck) and Wii sports. You will need more controller/nunchucks, If you plan on getting racing games you should get a steering wheel (Iv seen some that they come with the game) You can also get GameCube Game but you will need a GameCube Controller (not sure if they have a wireless version of that) Im still finding out new stuff about this thing everyday lol, Good Luck!!
