Venting About Stuff and Thanksgiving...

This is random....Right now, myself, my SO and our 6 month old live in his Mom's house because a) the house is huge and she's only here on weekends because she works M-F three states away, and b) it'd be smarter to stay and save some money before we do move. We are saving now, and his career in Real Estate is just kicking off, so we're planning (and hoping) on being out of here by Spring. (Fingers crossed!)

Well, his Mom decided to renovate the kitchen. Might be nice...terrible timing. She went with an unfinished floor so the whole house wreaks with those finish fumes and we can't walk on the kitchen floor for 3 to 4 days. Even though they started this project on Friday (actually, they started it 4 weeks ago, they started the floor on Friday), it won't be ready until mid-Wednesday which means we can't have Thanksgiving here. The floors will be too tender to walk on for very long and we won't be able to cook, not to mention the fumes will probably make people sick. It really stinks because we can't use the sink, the fridge, the oven, the back door (which is right next to the driveway), we can't go in the basement which is where the drinks fridge and the washer and dryer are, we can't use the dishwasher or dishes at all for that matter, not that there is anything to eat without an oven and a fridge! Just a real bummer.

She kindly offered up my Mother's tiny apartment, telling us we'd have no choice but to go over there to eat (and we eat more than one time a day) and now we also have to have Thanksgiving over there. Don't get me wrong, my Mom's apartment is the one place I really feel at home, but we have a lot of people for Turkey this year and her table seats eight, uncomfortably. Well, thats all, I just needed to vent.
