Something That has always bothered me

Why do moms complain about spending time with their kids on school breaks? They act like it is a bother, they arte our kids not the schools. I just think moms should cherish the time we have with them while they are still young. Now I know they can be a pain sometimes no one lnows it better than me lol 5 boys three girls, but I also know when they are off and at college they will be missed. So quit complaing.

I have always tried to spend as much time with my son, in all things, I know its easy he's only one, but guess what, thats why i only had one!

I tell everyone - he's only with us for a short part of his life, why not cherish it.

He's 15 now, and I see that road ahead and my heart already hurts, but I also go into the next few transitional years knowing I did my best and really gave my son both the quality and quantity of time he deserves.

Hate to break it to you; but those feelings have been around for a long time.

My mom  hated school breaks and I'm in my 40's.

"and mom and dad can hardly wait for school to start again." That song "its beginning to look a lot like christmas" is older than dirt and they back then felt that way.

It shouldn't bother you. What MOST people mean when they say that, at least now, is a lot of mom's work. When kids are out of school they now have to rely on someone else to be there for the kids.  It really has nothing to do with parents not wanting to spend time with their kids.  My mom use to hate school breaks and it had nothing to do with her not wanting to spend time with us..she just would rather of saw us in school learning and doing something, instead of being bored.

I I hear it all summer and over Christmas break from moms who honestly don't know what to do with their own kids. It is sad. Why not turn those into moments to remember with our kids?

So do we.  Sometimes I can't wait to go to the grocery store or for a walk by myself, but I couldn't imagine wanting to be away from my kids for hours at a time 5 days a week.
