So my FIL is in the hospital a state away with pneomonia and will be there on Thanksgiving as well.  My hubby wants to go visit on thursday and I'm a little apprehensive with all these illnesses going around plus I'm pregnant and we have an almost three year old.  I'm planning on calling my doctor and asking him but in the meantime I'd like a little input=)!

You can keep your kiddo at home with someone or fam w/e...you can make sure to wash your hands before and after you touch anything... wear a mask too... i dunno... it would suck to not have fam around during tg especially when you are stuck at a hospital... booo... good luck.

I wish I had someone to leave her home with!  My mom and dad are truck drivers and hubbys mom and sister will be visiting FIL.  And I'd really hate to not have dd with me on Thanksgiving=(.  Maybe I could leave her with my best friend though........

Check with the hospital to make sure they'd even let your three-year-old in.  I was in the hospital last week and they wouldn't let my eight-year-old daughter visit me at all during the three days I was there.  No one under eighteen was allowed to visit, no exceptions.

before you make any decisions, Call the hospital that your FIL is in and ask about their policy about visitors.  I know where I'm at all the hospitals have updated their visitation policys and don't allow anyone under 18 to come into the hospital unless they are the Pt.  I would hate for you to drive all the way over there just to find out that you can't go in anyway.

Our hospital is no one under 12 and only 2 visitors per patient. Most hospitals have adapted a similar policy because of flu season.

Same thing years ago when my sister was 4 and in the hospital for pneumonia.  I was only 11 and my younger brother was 2 so we couldn't see my sister the whole time she was in the hospital.  Back then you had to be 13, so my older brother saw her a few times, but my younger brother and I couldn't.
