My daughter has not wet the bed in over a year, except for a few times. But lately, she has been wetting the bed often and she even pooed in her pants yesterday! She has me worried. She has mentioned that she has nightmares of a man named "Janes" keeping her locked in a dark room by herself. That is her biological father and he did that for time out. She does not know him except in her dreams. I don't know if she is peeing the bed because of nightmares or if something else is going on (she has complained of a tummy ache, but she has had constipation problems for a while that was accompanied with a tummy ache). My sister thinks it may just be a phase, where her dreams are more vivid and exciting and she doesn't want to get out of bed to go pee.
I don't know if I should take her to a psychologist and open this whole can of worms that she doesn't know about (her father) which could make things worse or if I should wait it out. Anyone have a school-aged child start wetting the bed all of a sudden? Did you find out why?
