My Son will be 6 on Dec 2. We were originally planning on having his whole class come to his party at monster golf, its an indoor golf place. Now I am having a family party for him on the 5th and it will be not until the following week that we have his class party. I am having a huge anniversary party at the end of the month for my husband and I. Do you think its selffish if I just take him to Hershey Park amusement park for the weekend? I really dont have the time to plan out his birthday for all 23 kids.

Quoting wife.and.mommy:
has been talking about his birthday party and have you mentioned it to his friends parents?
if you have, then have the party, if NO ONE knows, then take him to Hershey, but it will be cold
No he has not mentioned it and the parents dont know. every year we go to hershey around x-mas...

If you are having a family party, I don't see anything wrong with it. I have decided that for my son's birthday I am not going to plan a party because it's so hard to have to plan for the whole class when only about 6 show up(in order to pass out invites during school, the whole class has to get one). One year I didn't get any RSVPs til 2 days before, I almost canceled it. So yup, it's perfectly fine.

This is what I was thinking too what if only 10 kids show up and I pay all this money I would rather take him somewhere and focus just on him

I think it's just fine to do something special as a family instead of a party. Sounds wonderful!
