Does your family go all out for Thanksgiving dinner or do you keep it simple? my DH's family just does a turkey, mashed potatoes and peas, my family has always gone all out, turkey, garlic mashed potatoes, dressing, home made cranberry sauce, corn casserole, green bean casserole and so on. we just can't seem to find a happy medium between our two family traditions. so what do you do?

DH's family goes all out.  My family when I was growing up went all out until I was 16.  When I was 16 my grandfather died just a week before Thanksgiving.  HE was the one who smoked the turkey, he made the stuffing.  Thanksgiving was HIS holiday,  lol we just ate the results.  Since then my family has had very untraditional Thanksgiving meals.  They are still hugh meals but we don't do the turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, etc.
