Is everyone ready for Thanksgiving? Do you travel? What does everyone eat? Traditional? Or something else? Just thought we could maybe share some different ideas on what we all do on Thanksgiving and maybe I could get a few ideas to think outside of the box! LOL

HAPPY THANKSGIVING CF FRIENDS~

I'm almost ready for Thanksgiving.  I've got most of the food.  I'm "suppose" to be cleaning today, but I'm alittle stuck to the computer, lol.  We usually travel to my inlaws and my parent's house for Thanksgiving, but this year we're doing it at home and invited the whole family.  We're having the usual - turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce, sausage, corn, green beans, rolls and stuffing.  For desert, we have pumpkin rolls, apple pie and fudge!  I can't wait!  I'm craving it already!

We always go to my MIL's for Thanksgiving.  She cooks all the food~ traditional~turkey, stuffing, green bean cass., sweet potato cass., and the pies.  She's a government contractor so this is really the only time we get to see her unless she has time to spend weekends with us.

This year we are only going to my MIL's house for thanksgiving dinner. My dad's birthday happens to fall on Thanksgiving this year, so my mom said she isn't cooking. They are going out for dinner. Still not sure how they have their day planned, so I'm not sure when we will be going with my parents.

This year it is just dh, me and our 15 yr old ds so we are going ot golden corral.  Normally I do all the cooking of a big traditional thanksgiving meal..but this year

ds 1 is going to be at wifes family cause her dad is ill (bladder cancer) and they are closing on a house on wednesday.

dd 2 is going to be in MN at her dh's extended family

dd 1 is going to dh's family since the rest of the family wont be at ours

one sister is in CO and her dh is fighting brain cancer

neice has 1 yr old triplets (surviving quads) and they are still fragile and with all the flu, etc they are not doing holiday get togethers  this year.

other sister is having financial difficulties so she and her dh and their two kids are staying home and going to his brothers house (3 hrs south of us)

my parents and other sister are dead and sister was divorced.  dh's parents are dead.  We do a once a year get together in October with his siblings.

We have friends who are going to have a taco and poker thanksgiving at their oldest sons house...(the son and his wife have kids from their previous marriage and the ex-spouses have the kids thanksgiving day..so they wanted something different)

We're having a cooperative Thanksgiving this year lol.  The command cancelled leave so we're all stuck here thousands of miles from family.

We're hosting.  We're making mac & cheese, caramel apple pie, and green bean casserole.  Hubby's best friend is bringing the turkey and stuffing and maybe some potatoes of some sort.  Best friend's roommate is bringing something as well, but I'm not sure what.  I can't wait!  I love dinners with the boys!

I'm ready for Thanksgiving. Last year and this year were going to "the farm" SO's great aunt's house with all of her family. The hunters all come in early for dinner. Lots of kid's and people.(I'm not looking forward to it) but I will live. Usually my siblings and I would all gather at my mom's house for Thanksgiving but this year she's hosting step-father's family. And two of the 5 siblings are out of state and my older sister that's still around is going to visit my older brother(her twin) for it. We'll be eating all the normal traditional things. I'll miss the taco dip and pumpkin yum yum.

I'm ready.  I am cooking turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green bean cassarole, pumpkin and cherry pies.  We are having dinner with my BIL and his wife and 4 kids, so his wife is bringing some things also.  She's nursing school and graduating next month, so she is so busy, I told her I would do the bulk of the cooking.  I get along with my BIL and his wife really well, so we are looking forward to spending a fun day with family.
