So I am making it....

Using tater tots,  green beans cream of chicken and mushroom (combo can) cheese and ground beef/w onion.

It is in the oven pretty thick........maybe 4 inches thick.....

It is on 400 (tater tots said) how will I know when it is done? Will the tots still get golden with all that mush? how long does it take

It's pretty good. we got the recipe from the Duggar web-site. They live near us. They may seem kind of "different" on TV, but they are really REALLY nice people!!!

The "Tater Tot casserole" that I know is canned beef stew and tator tots on top. You cook it on the temp that comes on the package of Tater Tots. Hope that helps it's very easy and good!

you take 2 cans of cream of mushroom soup and mix it with a little milk so it's kinda runny. then layer cooked crumbled hamburger, broccoli, and tatertots. when your done pour the soup mix over it all and bake it in the over until the tots are golden brown.

we call it hotdish though, lol, it's a midwest thing.

i make mine a bag of tator tots i pound of hamburger or ground turkey can of corn or peas can of crm of mushroom soup sour cream and shredded cheese. i brown the hamburger and then mix it with the frozen tator tots corn 1 cup of sour cream the crm of mushroom and then put it in the baking dish put more tator tots on top and shredded cheese on top bake at 350 for 45 min to a hour
