A few days ago I posted about our kids getting too caught up in girls, and friends, and passing notes, and drama at school. We had a talk with them. Explained to them what we expected. Explained to them that as young Christians they need to have more respect for themselves and their teachers and their peers. Well one of our boys was having a problem with a kid at his lunch table. He is a family friend and pretty much one of those 'unavoidable' kids.

So Tavin took in upon himself to talk to his guidance counselor and get his lunch period changed. I am just really proud of him. We have had problems with this kid a few times and although we are friends with his parents, they are the kind of parents that just do NOT see their kid for who they really are. To them he is this perfect honor student in the airforce program. Not the mean perverted bully that I get to see. (hes the one that tried to show the boys "two girls one cup". the one that brought a pocket knife to school and then called my boys liars for letting me know. the one that actually got into a fist fight with Tavin earlier this year.)

So anyway, I have to say I am so proud of him for taking the initiative to remove himself from a situation that he felt like he couldn't deal with any longer. To prevent getting in trouble again. He already got ISS for one day because of their fight. The protocol is ONE WEEK OSS!! But the teachers took up for him and he ended up with the one day ISS instead. So he knows next time there will be more punishment if he ends up in another fight with this kid. And he knows I will be seriously pissed if he ends up out of school for a week!
