HOW LOUD CAN YOU EFFING BE?!

My neighbors are so loud I can hear them all the way on the other side of the house I am renting, while the T.V. is on in the living room!  What the hell are they doing over there? Jeez!   I just got on to my 5 YO for running in the house, and DH said it wasn't him, its coming from next door.  We are renting a house, not an apartment, so we don't share walls with anyone. Its not music,  it sounds like someone is running around and banging on the walls.  They don't have kids.  They have 1 dog but he is outside now.  They sound like this all day and night, every day!  WTH can they be doing over there?!  I don't think I would be annoyed so much if it wasn't constant ( and happening at 2 or 3 in the morning).   Its so annoying to be woken up at 2 in the morning thinking someone is banging on your door, and its your neighbors jumping or whatever in their house.   I don't know why but it is really starting to irritate me.  It's so loud it sounds like someone is running and jumping around in my house.   Thanks for listening to my vent I feel a little better.   I am still fighting the urge to walk over there and ask what the hell is going on !  I don't want to do that because they are nice ppl . But it's so hard to go against my nature =(  I don't know how to go over there and nicely tell them to keep it down.  I only know how to be a b*tch about it and I am really trying hard these days not to be a total b*tch when I get irritated ,KWIM? They only way I can practice this, is to keep my mouth shut. Like that saying " If you can't say anything nice , don't say anything at all."  And I can't say anything nice at this point.  Even if I had a script.  I will somehow make it turn out to sound like I am the mega. AHHHH.... I don't know what to do!!!!!

If it's really that loud wait til the middle of the night when it starts and call the police for a noise violation / public disturbance.  Good Luck!

jeez.  my neighbors were obnoxiously loud, but at least they had somewhat of an excuse that we shared a living room wall.  thank goodness they moved a few weeks ago.  the peace and quiet is still a novelty.  if i didn't share walls with my neighbor and they were STILL that loud, i'd go over ONCE and say, "i don't know if you're aware of it, but i can hear whatever it is you're doing in here in my house.  with my tv on and doing normal activities.  would you mind dialing it down a bit?"  then, if they ignored me or didn't get that oh-so-subtle hint, i'd be calling the cops from then on.  i'm all about being nice and minding my own business, but i should be able to expect privacy and comfort in my own home.  and if i have to listen to what's going on in your house?  i don't even want to be home.

Yeah since you put it that way, I don't think I am being mean and nosy if I call the police.  I am going to have to get my DH to drop the subtle hint.  I personally, am a really nice person, my case in point with this post.  But for some reason when I get irritated I cannot be nice at all.  Even if I have the nice words written out for me.  I just get so irritated that all my niceness flies out the window.  Its really uncontrollable I am embarrassed to say.  I will definitely let the police handle it after DH goes over there tomorrow ( they finally left ).  Thanks
