Seriously, why do people do this?

I live in an apt complex. Every day from noon till about ten pm, my neighbors blare their music. Except they adjust it so that all you can hear is bass, no music. Even if you're standing outside their door, all you hear is bass.

What is the appeal in that?? This is getting really annoying. I wouldn't even care if they played their music loud, except like I said, it's not the music, only bass. sitting here, i can feel the thump thump on my butt.  And I swear they just put the same song on repeat for ten hours straight because the beat feels the same. I can't even listen to music that long, i dont see how they do it.

Should I go over there and say something? Or would I be that 'bitchy neighbor'? I don't know if I should keep the peace or what, but this is seriously driving me nuts. I can hear it over my tv.

**oh, and btw, the rules in the apt complex are no loud music after ten, so technically they're not doing anything wrong, just annoying as f*ck**

I would say something. When I lived in a complex and someone did that, I would bang on the wall, call the cops, go over to bitch at them, or complain to the land lord person. I hate that.

That would drive me nuts... I can't stand that stupid thump, thump, thump... Our Jeep has a soft top so road noise is bad, and anytime we stop next to someone in the car with their base up I want to go insane. I don't know what I would do if I had to hear that at home all the time... Maybe you can tell them the music wakes your child while s/hes trying to sleep could they please turn it down a bit? I don't think that would cause trouble.

I know how you feel my old neighbor did that for 86 hours straight while not home just to torture me I didn't know they weren't home and called the cops a bunch of times. Then at another place the neighbors played theirs so loud that a treasured wall hanging of mine crashed to the floor and shattered. In both cases I reported it to management and nothing was done. You can try to report it good luck mamma!

Remember if you want to harm them for it,  its not keeping the peace either :) Sometimes its better to have them mad at you and you have quiet than you being mad and being friendly with the neighbor.

I would just ask them nicely to turn it down, if they don't then get nasty about it.
