Quron

Well, I don't know much about it.  But my brother somehow got mixed up with following the Muslim ways.  He compares the Holy Bible to the Quron quite often and questions so much of what does not match up.  He also says that the Quron has never been re-written the way the Holy Bible has.  But... there are many things in the Quron that you will not find in the Holy Bible.

For instance, not just anyone can even touch the Quron without being cleansed first.  He was studying it one evening and was walking away to go the restroom or something.  He left me specific instructions to not let ANYONE touch his Quron.  Jokingly I touched it with my finger and he threw a fit!!!!    Apparently it is very disrespectful to do that.  My only response to him was "My God allows ANYONE to touch the Holy Bible".  End of story!

So, aside from not spelling it correctly, you're going to deliberately disrespect his beliefs because you don't agree with them?  Interesting.

The only appropriate attitude for man to have about the big questions, is not the arrogant certitude that is the hallmark of religion, but doubt. Doubt is humble and that is what man needs to be, considering that human history is just a litany of getting shit dead wrong. - Bill Maher

Well, that was very disrespectful of you since he specifically told you and you were aware of the rules!
How is that so hard to understand? THe Quran is a holy book. Anyone can touch it, but since it is the word of God, you can only touch it if you are clean. Islam values cleanliness.
Your brother also did not get "mixed up" in the following fo Islam, he converted. Please be respectful of his choice as I am sure he is of you!

So you can only touch the book if your Muslim   b/c then you are clean?

I would think one would want anyone to look in it if they thought that their religion was the only way to heaven

Ummm I think you misread what she said. She sid that anyone can touch it, but only if clean... Anyone implies Non-Muslims too.  I have read the Qur'an and I am not Muslim... I even have a copy of it on my bookshelf. However, I do try to be respectful about it even if its not something I believe in.

Oh geez.  Why not just respect his beliefs?  If he were to spit on the Holy Bible, you probably would have pitched a fit right?  I don't know what God you serve, but my God says to love thy neighbor, regardless of what they believe in.

Read the sentence in front of the red. Anyone can touch it. Muslim, Christian, Jewish, Athiest. But you have to have clean hands out of respect for God's words. There are all kinds of dirt and germs on your hands.

It's simply a matter of respect.  I was raised Christian and my mom always said it was disrespectful to place anything on top of the Bible.  That would be like me placing something on the Bible when she turned her back for a moment.

And by the way getting "mixed up" in something implies that he has taken the wrong path.  Following God is never wrong.

Exactly! I was taught the same thing about the Bible when I was growing up!
And to be honest, now that I am Muslim. If I go to my familys house and pick up their Bible, I will wash my hands first because it is my familys beliefs, they believe it is Gods word, I wouldn't want to contaminate it in anyway!
