ok, I hate to sound like a commercial, but I got a coupon from my son's daycare for the Tide Stain Release packets.  And day one, my (almost) three year old gets pizza sauce on his freaking Kelly's Kids shirt.  So, grumbling and skeptical, I sprayed with shout (never works) and added the Stain Release to the wash.  The tomato sauce came COMPLETELY out.  Not even a hint of it left!  I HIGHLY recommend this product!!!

Anybody else have any handy products or tips to help make other mom's lives easier?

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Tide to go pens...My daughter has a mostly white cheerleading top..(bright idea for 8-11 year olds huh?) And almost EVERY competition, she never fails to get lipstick on her top, this past weekend, it was on her butt!! Who knows, Don't ask!!!  LOL  That pen took it off immediately

today i shampooed the carpets with our steam cleaner. . ran out of detergent.. so looked on line for homemade ones.. i pretty much came to the conclusion it is the hot water that does the cleaning and the detergent is more for the smell.. I went ahead and heated water in a tea kettle and added a bit of liquid laundry soap! My carpets are smelling much cleaner and look nice considering they are 30 year old shag LOL.. Saved me at least 10.00!

I haven't tried those, yet.  To be honest, I never really liked Tide (for a laundry detergent, it just left my clothes a bit stiff) but after the revelation I had with the stain release, I need to try more of their products!

i pretty much do that as well but i use oxyclean & hot water...sometimes i throw in a little bleach and it works better than carpet cleaners i've used in the past & it definitely saves some $$$

Great idea!  My carpets are shag (but not 30 years old, I actually had them installed about 3 years ago, you know all the old styles are coming back, lol) and I bought a steam cleaner last year and have yet to use it.  Might be time!

You can see my carpet in this pic.  I love it and think it's really pretty.  But it's not everybodies taste.  I will say, it feels GREAT walking and laying on it.  Before, we had berber and it was stiff and uncomfortable.

http://www.theworkscleans.com/index.html The Works products are amazing and so inexpensive. Any of their products can be bought for a little over a $1. They work better than any I've ever found. Tub and Shower, Toilet Bowl cleaner, Drain opener...anything that is used in the bathroom pretty much. I find it around here at Walmart and a few dollar stores. Hope you try it!

To clean the inside of you microwave, you can put a bowl of water in it and turn it on for a few minutes and it will just wipe clean.  No scrubbing or cleaners required.  Super easy and it works REALLY well.
