Surrogacy??

They are taking applications for surrogates in San Antonio and I was thinking about applying since I meet all the requirements. I was wondering if anyone has experienced being a surrogate or had one and if there is any information you might have. Thanks.

The requirements for becoming a surrogate mother are first that you enjoy easy and uncomplicated pregnancy, live in California, Colorado, North Carolina or Texas, have at least one child that you are raising in your home, you are between the ages of 21 and 38, non-smoker, living in a stable household, have reliable transportation, not be receiving state financial assistance (welfare), have not been arrested or been in a substance abuse program within the last 10 years. If you would like to become a surrogate mother, we will run a full criminal background check on you and your husband or partner. As well as a urine drug screen, STD’s, HIV, Hepatitis, (full female medical exam) including an ultrasound to look at your uterus.

That was for the one I was looking at which is  'thesurrogacysource'

You forgot one thing. Your children cannot be on "welfare" either. I too checked into "thesurrogacysourse." After I filled out the application I was told that I was disqualified. I don`t receive welfare or any assistance but my children are on medical. :-( I really wanted to be a surrogate. But I don`t know anyone personally and it looks like I can`t go through an agency now.

Yeah that does suck. There wasn't anything on the site about that but luckily my children aren't on any kind of public assistance. They get their medical from their Father who is in the military so I think I would still qualify. Only problem is my boyfriend is not on board and my brother tells me it's a stupid idea.

But I could use the extra money so I could go back to school, plus I had two very strong and healthy pregnancies. I am only 26 and my doc says my body is strong and I definitly should be able to carry full term healthy pregnancies barring any unforseen complications.
